Dear Friends and Colleagues, I am thrilled to announce that Dr. Hannah Vander Zanden will be the new Director of the Archie Carr Center for Sea Turtle Research at the University of Florida beginning in early January 2025. Hannah is now an Assistant Professor (soon to be promoted to Associate Professor) in the Department of Biology at the University of Florida. She brings exciting new research directions with substantial support, having just received a prestigious CAREER award from the National Science Foundation. Hannah also is committed to expanding collaborations and developing new initiatives for outreach. The CTURTLE listserv and the Cooperative Marine Turtle Tagging Program will continue under her guidance. I will retire from the University of Florida in mid-January 2025 after 51 years, which began with my graduate studies with Archie Carr. While I plan to remain in Gainesville and continue to mentor...
