This Heidelberg platen was our first automatic press, bought in 1986. In all that time it has broken down only twice, both requiring only a simple exchange of parts. Its predecessor was an Arab treadle platen built before the First World War.

Galleys are metal trays with an open end. These ones hold the type set on a Monotype machine by @effrapress for 'Frozen Hell' an @areteeditions project.
