🚨 Gyökeres reveals the message Arteta gave him and Merino before they changed the game against Hull. 🧠 🗣️ Viktor Gyökeres: “Arteta told us not to come on and play the same way. He wanted us to change the feeling of the game. His message was simple: ‘Don’t wait for the game to come to you. Go and take it.’ He told Merino to keep making aggressive runs and told me he didn’t need 20 touches — he needed me to make the defenders nervous every time I threatened to run in behind. The idea was to make Hull uncomfortable. And it worked. Merino pushed higher, I started attacking the space, and suddenly Hull’s defenders had new problems to deal with. That movement created the space for Ødegaard to find the decisive moment. The goal wasn’t just about the finish. Arteta’s changes completely altered the rhythm of the game. That’s what impressed me most. He didn’t ask us to become heroes. He asked us to change the game. And we did. Arteta doesn’t just make substitutions. He gives them a mission. Is Arteta one of the best tactical managers in the Premier League right now?
