The @packers sent flowers to my sister’s celebration of life this morning (she worked as a @LambeauField tour guide for 17 years). What a class organization.

Sept 11, 2001. I was on a train to Chicago with work colleagues to attend a conference at McCormick Place. Just after we pulled out of the Milwaukee Airport Amtrak Station, literally everyone's phones rang almost simultaneously. All kind of "What?" reactions, and chatter in the cars, even the Quiet Car. By the time we reached the Glenview stop, more than half the people got off the train, afraid to continue into the city. We continued on to Union Station. Walked out to utter chaos. Almost every employer had let their people go home, sidewalks were packed with people, police were EVERYWHERE, parked cars were being towed, etc. It took us 20 minutes to find/hail a cab to McCormick Place. Despite being a huge show, the aisles were so empty you could have rolled bowling balls and never hit anyone. A few large TV's had been wheeled out, and the people still there were clustered around them watching CNN. That was the first time we had seen replays of the twin towers falling. No one could do anything work-related. IIRC Amtrak cancelled return trips. Thankfully, a work colleague had driven his Chevy Tahoe to the city, so we crammed 6-7 of us in there for the 2 hr drive home, listening to talk radio, and realizing how much the world had changed in just a few minutes, earlier that day. #september11

The @packers lost one of their biggest fans (and former employees) today, my sister Patti @Pyropatti. For 17 years, until she suffered health problems, she entertained people with her sense of humor as a @LambeauField Tour Guide. The world is a darker place without her in it.
