New York State Board of Elections releases statement about Westchester County ballot scanning issues

Update -
The Westchester County Board of Elections (BOE) is aware of an issue involving paper ballots that is preventing voting machines from accepting ballots at polling locations throughout the County. The Westchester Board of Elections wants to reassure every voter that your vote matters, your ballot will be secure and your vote will be counted.
The Board of Elections is in constant communication with New York State officials, Westchester County Government and poll workers to address this issue and ensure that voting continues with as little disruption as possible. In the meantime, voters should continue to complete their paper ballots as instructed by poll workers. Ballots will be placed in designated orange emergency ballot bags, which will remain secure and monitored. These ballots will subsequently be counted in accordance with applicable election procedures.
We strongly encourage all voters to remain in line, exercise patience and, most importantly, cast their ballots.
The BOE sincerely apologizes to voters and poll workers for the inconvenience this situation has caused, and the BOE recognizes the importance of a smooth and efficient voting process. They are taking every necessary step to address the issue as quickly as possible.
Let us be absolutely clear: Every eligible vote will be counted. No voter should be discouraged from participating in this election because of this issue. Your voice matters. Your vote matters. Please stay in line and vote.

CBS News: Ballot scanners down at most Westchester County, New York polling sites, officials say
Voting machines at most polling sites in Westchester County are not accepting ballots due to an issue, according to the county executive.
The scanners started experiencing problems when the polls opened at 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Voters are being instructed to stay in line and fill out a paper ballot, which will be put into a secure box.
County Executive Ken Jenkins said there is no word as to when the problem will be fixed.

I’m a poll worker in NY 17 and none of our ballot machines work. Going to have to count paper ballots manually. And this is happening all over Westchester County. What’s happening???!!! #VotingDay
The Board of Elections told me 0 machines are working in Westchester County. And techs need to manually fix each machine.

AirBnB changes absolutely overdue. Would rather stay in a hotel which is cheaper or the same and not be harassed about cleaning. These policies meant we spent our last night in a hotel where we wouldn’t have to worry about cleaning over making our flight.
After 15 years in tech/startup product management, I have transitioned to being a birth doula. I'm giving myself a year to make it sustainable. I launched the business two years ago, slowly, with an all-consuming day job at the same time. Now I'm going all in. LFG.

All right, take 2 - I made a game:
Sound of Sliver: a music game for the hardcore. Do you know the song in under 300ms? Today's theme is indie sleaze
My friend made a game where you try to guess the song playing! “Do you know the song in under 300ms? A game for the hardcore” Try it!

If seniors can’t afford the upkeep/property taxes on their home, they should do what every generation before them did: SELL THEIR HOUSE

It’s good when property taxes force seniors to move out of their 3bd homes and downsize so young families can move in

I remember when I was young they had these people called “investigative journalists” who could find out stuff like if a senator was dead or not
You can avoid a lot of this if you just pay cash for the car. Or bring your own financing. Just bought a car for cash, once we agreed on the price I paid a deposit and peaced. Wired funds the next day then signed a few things and was done - took literally like 5-10 minutes.
They want you to sit thru the Finance Manager’s pitch for you to add-on a bunch of crap that increases their margin on the car. I went thru this with my 24 year old son. I sat in on the pitch. I’m sure my son, if alone and not knowing, would have agreed to some of it.
But he looked at me after every issue offered by the Fonance guy and I just nodded my head “No.”
Pissed the guy off. Completely unfriendly when done. Took 45 min.
