did anybody else after seeing the tesla roadster demo wonder how dangerous the air tank would be in a collision ? It seems like it would be medium sized bomb level explosive, right ? it looks so cool but it's scary to think how wrong a hard landing could go (or even a car crash)

why does twitter show me videos of some dude painting mismatched colored rubber over cement with paper strips mixed in, and all the comments are in Indonesian ?

A 40-year-old patent has finally been brought to life. That's the Y-zipper. A 3D-printed three-sided fastener that transitions any object from flexible to rigid and back again. The robotics application is the one that caught my attention. A quadruped robot that adjusts its leg stiffness depending on terrain, switching between rigid and flexible in real time without additional motors or complex mechanical systems. But this goes way beyond robotics. A wrist cast that loosens during the day and stiffens at night. A tent that pops into shape in 90 seconds instead of six minutes. The idea sat in a patent filing for four decades. It took 3D printing to finally make it real. ~~ ♻️ Join the weekly robotics newsletter, and never miss any news β†’ ziegler.substack.com

git-stage-batch 0.10.1 is out! The 0.10 series is mostly about making larger changesets easier to review: file review pages, better batch behavior, faster multi-file operations, and a lot of reliability work under the hood.

πŸš€ git-stage-batch 0.7.0 is out! Big new feature: `--as TEXT` flag for `include` and `discard` Now you can do powerful line-level text replacement while staging or moving changes to batches. Replacement support is now consistent across live selections, batch display, and discard-to-batch. #Git #OpenSource

As I mentioned before, git-stage-batch also has line-level granularity for staging. Now, even staging to the index is replacement-aware! So staging line ranges works in a more intuitive way, not just the way the diff happens to be split. Thanks ppww reddit.com/r/git/comments/1s… 5/

There are some misc bug fixes as well, like *critically important* πŸ˜‰ latin1 support in diffs, and a double output bug. halfline.github.io/git-stage… (P.S. The project still has < 10 🌟on GitHub, I need YOU 🫡to help. I even signed up for an embarrassing β˜‘οΈto get more exposure)
