And for clarity, Blount and Blunt are pronounced the same way. But I simplified it to Blunt as I was tired of people rhyming my name with “count”.

These are the EU Commissioners The effective power in the EU. The folks who decide what happens. The ones with no loyalty to anything other than the journey to 'ever closer union' Are there any world class statesmen among them? Anyone you've even heard of? No. Its a home for politicos so useless that they are sent there as a reward for failure in their home countries. The EU is a failing institution. Led by failures

The wish to be outside the EU is often portrayed as a right-wing cause, when it is historically and still for many is, a left-wing cause. This is from the Plymouth Herald last week, written by the President of the Plymouth TUC. It doesn't sound like he has changed his mind.

Excellent point on contradictory Labour policies right now, from a reader of The Yorkshire Times last week. Ministers want to force the public sector to award contracts to domestic suppliers - something not possible within a Single Market.

It is remarkable that anyone can look at the EU is 2026 as an organisation to emulate or rejoin. To suggest the EU is a global actor while Britain is an observer, as they do, is genuinely ridiculous. The 21st century has been dreadful for the EU. Britain is far better prepared to fix its own problems outside the EU.

How can public figures and journalists, who presumably want to be taken seriously, write this tripe when we can all see what's happening in France? Does he seriously think we want to be party to picking up the pieces after that absolute disaster that's going to cripple the EU?..
By almost every economic and financial measure Brexit has been disastrous for the UK and Nigel Farage knows it

Isn't this "lawfare" exactjy what Democrats used against Trump? Wasn't right then and isn't right now but it's a bit rich Obama whining about it when he was probably the architect of it's use in the past...
It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

The UK could re-enter the EU in a “Switzerland plus” package that could be negotiated within months of any decision to deepen ties with the bloc, the head of a European parliament committee has said theguardian.com/politics/202…

🚨 NEW: SAS soldiers arrested for murder after Syria mission then sent back to fight. • A Sunday Times investigation has revealed that five SAS soldiers were placed under investigation for double murder after shooting two people during a July 2022 night operation in Syria targeting an Isis cell leader. • The troops said they acted in self-defence after coming under fire while trying to capture the target; an initial internal review supported this, but it was later overturned. • They were arrested, including at secret bases, and had homes raided as part of a Royal Military Police inquiry known as Operation Tanglement, facing potential life sentences. • Within 48 hours of being interviewed they were returned to the Syrian warzone to conduct further operations against Isis. • Legal aid was capped at £500 meaning soldiers had to use their personal savings. • After three years no charges were brought, though the soldiers were told the case could be reopened; all five have since left the Army.

For background on the disgraceful actions of MoD, Trolley and Wally and Starmer et al, the whole stinking crew of SW1 NPCs, watch Jaycal on Shawn Ryan show. Our government is much more dangerous than ‘Putin’, our own MPs and officials are driving the country into crisis, security and financial and spiritual and constitutional. The stinking Tories supported the worst lawyers in Whitehall never forget that. Which is a reason you never see Kemi-kasi campaign on this issue. They’ll all babble ‘Slava Ukraine prepare for war with Russia’ to distract from their deliberate undermining of our own borders and importing of jihadis. This country needs to focus on reversing the vandalising of our own forces by our own rancid political parties, not babbling Slava Ukraine about a moronic war the useless NPCs keep escalating - a war between two KGB-mafia networks we stumbled ignorantly and foolishly into because the west’s political class were programmed by university to be clowns. youtu.be/nuu3ShNddKA?si=R2dj…
The murder inquiry outlasted the premierships of Johnson, Truss, Sunak, Starmer so Qs not limited to one PM or party — as for the current administration, @wesstreeting confirmed last night he will *not* meet the SAS men involved or their lawyers. Per sources, this is because some have submitted complaints to military police. I assume this reflects the fact defence secretary also oversees military law enforcement — a tension that apparently meant the MoD was unable to give any meaningful comment or view on the whole affair. That includes SAS men sent out of helicopters into nighttime battle against ISIS 48 hours after police interviews, and having homes raided and murder allegation raised before families.

Anyone who still believes that the 'far right' are the problem in the West needs to take one look at France tonight and realise how horriby wrong they are. Stop demonising the wrong people and open your eyes to the real problem.

"David Davis MP in Commons this week on Legacy “The government, unfortunately, have prioritised their relationship with Dublin over their duties to their own veteran soldiers. Ireland will undoubtedly come to regret its own role in this Bill. Scrutiny of its actions during the Troubles will show that it was never the impartial party it tries to present itself as now, but instead a partisan and a criminal insurgency. "The Irish Government provided active sanctuary for IRA terrorists, and justice cannot mean relentless scrutiny for British soldiers but selective scrutiny for the Irish Government. They must accept the scrutiny of themselves that they demand of others, and we might start with an independent review of their role in the Omagh bombing, which we have heard something of today," he added. "I am afraid that this is a nation much of whose politics is hostile to Britain - we should not avoid that fact. Britain must not sacrifice its soldiers for an illusory diplomatic advantage," he said.
