'What day is it?' asked Pooh.
'It’s our BIRTHDAY.' squeaked Piglet.
'My favourite day.' said Pooh.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

On this day, 43 years ago — June 14, 1982 — the Falklands Conflict came to an end.
Today, we remember the 255 British, and 3 Falkland Islander lives lost.
To those who fell, we remember you.
To those who still bear the weight of that war, we see you.
Lest we forget 🫡

Imagine being so contemptuously weak, servile and brainwashed; that you ignore the brutal rape of 13 year old girls by uninvited, unwanted savages to focus on and condemn the completely understandable and well overdue reaction.

On this day 40 years ago, 56 Bradford City and Lincoln City supporters went to a football match and never came home.
We will never forget those who lost their lives in the Valley Parade Fire Disaster, and we stand with everyone who continues to be affected to this day.
Forever remembered and forever in our hearts. 🎗️

Another important anniversary to mark today:
On 15th April 1945, the 11th Armoured Division of the British Army entered Bergen-Belsen concentration camp and found 55,000 surviving prisoners, about half Jewish, others political prisoners, Romanis, homosexuals and anybody else the Nazis deemed 'undesirable'.
Many were barely alive. Around 35,000 had died before liberation in the most appalling inhumane circumstances. After liberation, a further 13,000/15,000 died due to malnutrition and disease. No wonder survivors and liberators alike described Bergen-Belsen as an actual hell on earth. The survivors were, of course, marred for life. But to a lesser degree so were the liberators after what they saw.
Did an e-consult with my GP at 8.10am. Was phoned back at 9.30 and appointment at 10 with a blood test. I will have the results tomorrow. Thank you @NHSEngland
