Chrétien: I have a message for American friends. Yes, Canada is a generous, open country, and Canadians are tolerant and kind. But never mistake our generosity for weakness.
Never, never mistake our tolerance for lack of determination. And never, never mistake our kindness for softness.
We embrace our friends and we help them in their moment of need. But we bow to no one.
The more we are insulted or threatened and abused, the more we will stand up for ourselves and stand united.

Then explain this: your government just made American-owned Staples the exclusive vendor for every teacher's $750 classroom supply card, so not one of those dollars can go to a Canadian business. Buy Ontario means cancel the Staples deal. It's common sense.

Debunking Trump’s false claims about Canada:
“The president has falsely claimed that the Canadian public likes the idea of becoming the 51st US state, which is overwhelmingly unpopular with the Canadian public; that Canada is one of the world’s highest-tariff countries, though it is actually lowin world rankings; that Canada prohibits US banks from operating there, though more than a dozen US banks operate in Canada; that Canada doesn’t accept US agricultural exports, though Canada is the world’s second-largest purchaser of those exports; that Chinese and Russian ships are “constantly surrounding” Canada, though that never happened; and that “they don’t, essentially, have a military,” though Canada’s very-much-existent military jointly operates the North American Aerospace Defense Command with the US and fought alongside the US in Afghanistan, against ISIS in the Middle East and in various prior wars.” - @ddale8

🎥 The trade war between Canada and the US is on again.
And this matters - not just for these two countries but for everyone.
But this time around Canada might just have a secret weapon in its fight.
Here's our primer, with charts aplenty👇

- The US Department of Agriculture correctly says on its website that "almost all" US agricultural exports to Canada face no tariffs at all
- The super-high Canadian dairy tariffs Trump often talks about are *over-quota* tariffs...tariffs that apply only after certain negotiated quantities of zero-tariff exports are met...and those quotas are rarely hit, often not even approached
- Most Canadian exports go to the US, but it's not close to "95%"; it was about 72% of goods exports in 2025, down from 76% in 2024
- The US goods-trade deficit with Canada has sometimes been $60 billion but often been much smaller, and it overwhelmingly exists for one reason: the US imports a lot of cheap Canadian oil

Dear Americans:
I don't understand why you keep allowing Donald Trump to spew lies about Canada.
The lie that infuriates me the most is the one that erases Canada's war dead who died protecting your country.
It's unforgivable. – at Ajax, Ontario

The sheer number of lies from President Trump about Canada – growing again today – is remarkable. Just some fact checks from the last 18 months:
- Trump falsely said today that Canada's unemployment rate is "10% and rapidly rising,” though it is 6.4% (under the Canadian method that adds about a percentage point) and has been declining for three months
- Trump falsely said today that Canada does 95% of its business with the US, though 72% of Canadian exports went to the US last year
- Trump falsely said today that high Canadian agricultural tariffs have caused the entire US trade deficit with Canada, though that deficit is overwhelmingly caused by US imports of cheap Canadian crude and though something like 97% of US ag exports to Canada are tariff-free
- Trump has falsely said Canada generally doesn’t “take” US agricultural exports, though Canada is the world’s second-biggest buyer of those exports
- Trump has falsely said the Canadian public likes the idea of becoming the 51st state, which the Canadian public overwhelmingly opposes
- Trump has falsely said Canada is one of the world’s highest-tariff countries, though it is actually low in WTO global rankings
- Trump has falsely said Canada essentially doesn't have a military, though its military has fought with the US in multiple wars and its force size ranks in the upper half of NATO
- Trump has falsely said Canada hiked its dairy tariffs during the Biden administration, though they hadn’t changed since Trump’s first presidency
- Trump has falsely said the US trade deficit with Canada is “$200 billion,” though it is nowhere close
- Trump has falsely said Canada prohibits US banks, though it doesn't and though more than a dozen US banks were operating in Canada at the time he spoke
- Trump has falsely said Canada is “constantly surrounded” by Chinese and Russian ships, though that is fiction
- Trump has falsely said then-outgoing PM Trudeau was using their trade battle to run again for prime minister, though Trudeau obviously wasn’t running

Turns out the ‘deal’ with Canada that Trump (not Carney) announced the other night was no more real than the 14 ‘deals’ he’s announced with Iran, or the dozens of others he trumpets with no underpinnings. He’s shown he’s desperate to proclaim a victory with someone, anyone. /2

JORGE POSADA: “I CAN’T WATCH TODAY’S BASEBALL.”
Yankees legend Jorge Posada, a 4-time World Series champion and one of the faces of the dynasty years, (The Core 4) did not hold back during his interview on Abriendo El Podcast.
Posada said today’s game has become too robotic, too obsessed with formulas, and too accepting of strikeouts.
“The baseball being played today is garbage,” Posada said.
He also pushed back hard on the analytics crowd trying to judge Derek Jeter’s defense strictly through modern numbers.
“You can’t judge Jeter through a computer.”
That line right there is pure old-school Yankees.
Posada came from an era where putting the ball in play mattered. Moving runners mattered. Taking pride in not striking out mattered. He said back then, striking out 100 times in a season felt like you were not doing your job.
Now? Guys can strike out constantly, hit 30 home runs, bat .202, and still get paid like stars.
His message was simple:
The game got smarter on paper, but dumber between the lines. #yankees #repbx
