Depending on how things develop I'm thinking about migrating every thing I and my customers currently have running at @Hetzner_Online to a different provider. That's thousands of € worth of host fees. It will be a pain to do so, but I will not support a queerphobic provider.

I really hope this is just one rogue employee. (For those that don't know what happened. TLDR: They classified a drawing of two fully clothed women kissing romantically as porn and against their TOS and want the whole mastodon instance removed from their servers.)

Telecommunications as a whole, which also encompasses The Internet, is in a constant state of failure and just in time fixes and functionally all modern communication would collapse if about 50 people, most of which are furries, decided to turn their pager off for a day.

Please quote this tweet with a thing that everyone in your field knows and nobody in your industry talks about because it would lead to general chaos.

If you are using @jetbrains products and want your productivity back after the last update, do yourself a favor and go into the plug-in manager, and turn off the AI bullshit that got automatically installed. Every developer I know who uses their IDEs hates that new plug-in.

And it's simply because of how intrusive it is. It's not that you invoke it, and it does something, no it constantly tries to guess what you want to do while you are typing and the suggestions pop up while you are typing, and suddenly there is code you didn't type.

A crypto-mining company in Pennsylvania is seeking to burn tires to produce bitcoin, risking creating "highly toxic chemicals linked to cancer and known to be slow to break down in the environment". Yeah, bitcoin is definitely not just hot air. It's hot, dirty, toxic air.

> "The company also says it sometimes needs to burn tire-derived fuel – made of shredded vehicle tires – to make the combustion of waste-coal more efficient." Can't make this stuff up. It's literally a tire fire to trade imaginary magic beans. theguardian.com/us-news/2023…
