I saw a student in my workshop today who had a custom BLE CTF chip in his DEF CON badge! So cool! I got a picture but I can’t make out the full name of the creator. Zer0vul something. Love it 😍.

I’m excited to announce that we are growing our security team at Strike. We are looking for a Senior Product Security Engineer to join our fully remote team. If you are interested or know someone who is interested, let us know! lnkd.in/gEHjghEW
ROFL 🤣... I was shopping around for some ESP32s microcontrollers and found this stock picture. "Let me put this ESP32 into your desktop computer?"

I found this vids somewhere in 2019 and posted it. It is still one of my favorite interwebz vidz. I can set it on repeat and laugh for a solid 10 minutes. xitter.cf/hackgnar/status/124265…
No idea where this video came from, but I will watch it over and over for the next few months:
If you are coming to my DEF CON workshop this week and want a full-proof distro for haxor'n Bluetooths... Just bring a "Raspberry Pi Zero W" if you have one. I can flash your SD card with at nice distro you can ssh into over usb to do the challenges.

I just tested it myself by doing all of the exercises from an IPad connected to a pi zero over usb. Seems legit 🧑‍⚖️

I see a uniform pattern in most of my code repos. There seems to always be a spike in commits around the 7th month of the year. Gee, I wonder why there wasn’t one in 2020 though 🔍. I bet #DataScience #MachineLearning or #AI could shed some light 💡
If you’ve ever wanted to install BLE CTF or BLE CTF Infinity but have had compile issues or fear of compiling, the projects now have pre-compiled firmware you can flash. I’ve also added docker files for building if your into that. Instructions for both are in the repo docs.

Why did I buy this book? Yesterday I randomly discovered that chapter 11 is pretty much all about my BLE CTF project ❤️

If I fall off a ladder and die running cat5 cable in the dark what killed me?

My zoom meeting will be a bit more fun now. I have video going from Webcam -> opencv-> yolo object recognition-> fake ndi cam-> virtual web cam -> zoom. I’m sitting at ~20 fps with only using cpu for yolo. With a bit of multithreading I should be able to get to > 30fps.

btw, 20 FPS with CPU only on Yolo is a stretch. Im cheating here and just throwing a sample frame every 30 frames or so to yolo to parse. The other 29 frames just use the object boxes from 1 of 30 frames. This gives me "normal looking video" while still doing object detection

I wonder if Apple and Google could turn off phone ble mac randomization, start sniffing and reporting all ble addresses each phone comes into proximity with and help track & report on various aspects of corvid propagation? Random thought of the week 🤔

Lol, nm... there are various apps out there trying to do this now. Guess I was late to the party 🎈

March and April (at least) meetings will be online only. Get on IRC or the mailing list for the invite. Due to this medium we expect a big change in format and content, but at least we will power through it.

Do you do “security”? Focus on incident response? Do the log analysis thing? If you don’t worship this icon as your mascot or meme inspiration, you should! #IrPsaForToday
