The new retinal implant works. More than 80 percent of trial patients got back to reading and crosswords. What nobody can answer yet is who fixes it in year eight.
My ask is boring. A published continuity plan. Escrowed software and specs. A patient-held record of the configuration. A funded wind-down. Nobody should need one company's attention to keep their sight.

Today, October 7, 2026, the U.S. Transhumanist Party (@USTranshumanist) reaches the 12th anniversary of its formation. We continue to be a voice for putting science, health, and technology at the forefront of politics – highlighting possibilities of technological progress that have been neglected in conventional rhetoric but that are leading the transformation of the human condition itself.
To mark the occasion, yesterday I presented at the Conference on Healthy Longevity in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on the subject of “Transhumanist Politics in the United States and Its Implications for the World” – a fitting opportunity to reflect on some of the USTP’s history and the broader significance of its work. The major impact that we can have is to shift the discourse away from culture-war myopia and toward the open-ended possibilities of a future of radical longevity and abundance for all.
Earlier, on October 1, 2026, I also participated in an excellent panel on Public Advocacy for Longevity at the International Longevity Summit in Madrid, Spain – youtube.com/watch?v=xeq6pHW9… – and I marched for longevity and the defeat of biological aging through the streets and city squares of Madrid with tens of supporters. Transhumanist ideas are gaining visibility, though a significant uphill road remains to be climbed. Still, our longevity thus far demonstrates an ability to persevere, and persevere we shall. The transhumanist tower shown here draws architectural inspiration from some of my European travels while also aspiring upward and toward the future.
Live long and prosper!
Reading a brain used to require the owner's cooperation. Forty hours of lying still in a scanner. Nobody wrote that as a privacy rule. It was just expensive. That control is going away.
Treat a trained decoder like a credential. Who holds it, what it's bound to, who it gets calibrated against. Log every new person. Who is doing that today?

Can America still think clearly?
Looking forward to joining the discussion at Oodacon 2026, “Re-Anchoring America’s Cognitive Infrastructure,” to explore what’s degrading our ability to reason—and what it will take to rebuild it.

EvilTokens compromised 12,000 inboxes without stealing one password. Every victim passed MFA. Every login was on the real Microsoft page. That's not a bypass. That's the feature working exactly as designed.
Ten years hardening the front door. Attackers stopped picking locks and started asking the homeowner to open it. That's the whole story of identity security right now.
