South Korea has one of the highest rates (60%) of recycling and compositing. They recycle close to 60% of their plastics and metals and compost 100% of their food. Follow this thread to learn more about what I learned about recycling on my trip to South Korea last week (1/n). The first step are a series of laws for plastic recycling. Fines are given for noncompliance (up to $785) and rewards are given for reporting violators (up to $235). In the past 30 years the average Korean has reduced food waste by 66% (1/12)
