Don’t focus on becoming profitable. Focus on avoiding doing the things that make you unprofitable.

One common trick is to pretend it’s so simple. Only use 1-2 indicators but to master that you have to sub to their discord and watch them trade. It will take you years to master they tell you, although they did it in months. So you sub for a small $100/month for couple years. You lose but blame yourself. You copy exact trades and lose while they market 90% win rates. But you keep paying because there’s no way you can give up now. 100 accounts a day post how you can never give up. It’s not the $100 you lose, it’s the repeated losses, the endless time spent, the frustration. I’ve heard of people taking their lives over it. What a crappy way to make a living doing this to others. And they can always justify themselves.

Risk management isn’t about avoiding losses. It’s about making sure no single loss destroys your account.

Here are ten reasons a stop loss is so important in trading: 1. A stop-loss defines your price risk by quantifying what price level you will exit a trade at.  2. A stop-loss helps define your trade size. By knowing at what price you are going to exit a losing trade, you can set your position size based on your stop loss to define the size of your loss.  3. You can't control how big your win will be or if your trade will hit your profit target, but you can define the size of your loss by getting out at your stop-loss price level.  4. A stop-loss removes big losses from your trading strategy.  5. A stop loss frees up capital to move on to find winning trades.  6. You can save a lot of mental and emotional capital by getting out of a losing trade early.  7. The risk component of your risk/reward ratio is set by your stop loss and position size. Without a stop-loss, you can't have a risk-to-reward ratio.  8. A stop-loss caps your downside risk at a specific amount; this removes a lot of stress and the risk of ruin in one trade.  9. In option plays, the option hedge part of the play acts as a stop-loss.  10. A stop loss is a way of forcing a trader to admit that they are wrong about a trade; it keeps the ego in check.

If you trade gamma levels, know these 12 terms: Call Wall — heaviest call strike, dealer selling caps rallies Put Wall — heaviest put strike, dealer buying cushions dips Pin Magnet — hedging-neutral strike, pulls price near expiry Gamma Flip — line where dealers stop dampening, start amplifying GEX Cluster — stacked strikes, thick zone of hedging flow Positive Gamma — dealers fade moves, ranges hold, vol compressed Negative Gamma — dealers chase moves, trends run, vol expands Max Pain — strike where most premium expires worthless Vanna — delta shifts with IV, fires on vol crush Charm — delta decays with time, forces hedging into expiry OPEX — expiry unwind, levels lose their grip 0DTE — huge gamma, gone by the close

Most traders use GEX levels without understanding the regime. That is dangerous. Remember the same support, resistance, call wall, or put wall can behave completely differently depending on whether dealers are long gamma or short gamma. Here is how to tell which market you are trading:

“positive gamma means range-bound” is the most misread line in gamma trading. last 2 days: big positive gamma. market grinded up all day anyway. Most traders would say GEX doesn’t work positive gamma controls how price moves, not where. stairs, not elevators. $SPX $SPY

I have a couple decades of trading and investing. I have the accounts to prove it. But let’s be real, extremely few are daytrading successfully long term and almost none did it in a year or two. Daytrading is not investing, and it’s certainly not normal trading of swings and commons. You daytrade for hedges and extra capital when an edge is present in short term while long money does its thing, there’s a reason we don’t daytrade $500k options. those selling the dream just make their money grifting newbies.

$SPY had nice bullish recovery last week off daily support. Overhead resistance 746 750 760. I want to hold this D21 around 741 after the bounce off D50 then test 751 and hold.

WHAT JUST HAPPENED: Trump posted on Truth Social that the US-Iran 60-day ceasefire was locked in and a deal was "coming close." $SPY ripped from 725 → 745 in hours. This is HOW it happened: When geopolitical fear spikes, institutions buy puts en masse to hedge. Market makers SHORT $SPY to delta-hedge those puts. That synthetic selling pressure keeps a ceiling on price. One headline flips the fear narrative → Puts lose value rapidly → dealers UNWIND their short hedges → they BUY $SPY aggressively to stay neutral That forced buying CREATES the vertical move you saw. This wasn't organic. That was a gamma squeeze dealers as the accelerant, not the cause. THE CATALYST THAT TRIGGERED IT: Trump proclaimed on social media that a peace deal had been "largely negotiated" and the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened the single biggest inflation and energy risk variable for 2026. Markets had been conditioned to fade Trump's Iran optimism. He claimed on March 31 the war wouldn't last much longer, then April 7 a ceasefire. Stocks soared and oil plunged more than 16% on the news. Each ceasefire headline = dealers repricing vol = gamma fuel ignites. WHAT'S THE NEXT EXPLOSION? Here are your 3 live catalysts ranked by gamma potential: 🔴 1. Iran Deal SIGNED — Wildcard/Biggest A tentative memorandum of understanding is pending approvals from both leaderships, with key factors including verification mechanisms for enrichment limits and regional actors like Israel. A signed deal = oil collapses + real rates drop + every put hedge in the market becomes worthless overnight. That's your 30-handle $SPY move. 🟡 2. FOMC June 16-17 — Warsh's First Presser The rate decision itself is priced in. What traders are actually watching is the dot plot, Warsh's press conference tone, and whether the new projections push the first cut of 2026 into 2027 or leave a window open for September. Dovish dot plot = gamma ignition. Hawkish = vol repricing DOWN. High event risk = elevated options premium = squeeze potential either direction. Mitrade 🟢 3. $MU Earnings June 24 MU's next earnings release is expected June 24, 2026. Analysts expect EPS of $19.19 vs $12.20 last quarter, itself a $3.01 beat on estimates. $MU has beaten 3 straight quarters by massive margins. A 4th beat = memory supercycle confirmation = $NVDA $AMD $SNDK all gap up = $SPY gamma loop triggered through semis. coincodex THE PLAYBOOK: Dealers are still short gamma above 745. Any of these 3 catalysts = systematic unwind. Watch open interest at 750 / 760 strikes. That's where the next explosion lives. Don't get left behind. This is history.

GAMMA EXPOSURE tells you 3 things: ✅ Is the market pinned or trending? (Net GEX) ✅ Where is the biggest resistance? (+GEX) ✅ Where can volatility explode? (-GEX) Quick rule: 🟢 Positive GEX = Expect chop, smaller moves, mean reversion. 🔴 Negative GEX = Expect trends, momentum, bigger moves. 🧱 Near Max +GEX = Take profits faster. 💥 Near Max -GEX = Prepare for volatility and breakouts. Remember, now you'll know what the DEALERS are about to do before it happens for $SPY $SPX

Trading for '1-2 hours a day' is a lie sold by people who don't actually trade I'm on the charts most of the day Not taking 20 trades But watching Waiting Ready for my A+ setups That level of screen time is what made me profitable in the first place You can't learn price action by staring at charts for 90 minutes, at least not at the start

the options market opens at 9:30 AM ET. here's what actually happens in the first 10 minutes:👇 9:30-9:32: spreads are wide, fills are bad, algorithms are pricing in overnight news 9:32-9:35: volatility spikes, fake breakouts, stop hunts 9:35-9:40: real direction starts forming, volume normalizes most traders wait until 9:35-9:45 to enter. the first 5 minutes are a trap.❌

hot take: the best traders in the world have a 60-70% win rate. not 90%. not 95%. not "we never lose." 60-70%. if someone is claiming higher than that consistently, they're either hiding losses or lying about entries. the math doesn't lie. the screenshots do.
