Women's football world, I am looking to talk to some people who either have experience with, or extensive knowledge about endometriosis.
If this sounds like you and you're willing to have a chat, please let me know. 💛

“The values held by female fans of sport are far more than personal preferences,” says new research into women's sport fandom.
Fewer men than women value in-industry social responsibility. I wrote about why I think this is for @SportsGazette ✍️

I Hate this kind of stuff but I think it's important, this isn't something l'd normally do but it definitely needs to be spoken about more. Not enough people advocate for women's health as it's something that is unfortunately considered taboo, never discussed and most people have never heard of it - it's a full body disease that takes away so much from your life, affects fertility, fuses organs together including the bladder and bowel and you have to learn to live with chronic pain.
Right now there is no cure and very little treatment available for those suffering. On average it takes 8 years to get diagnosed with endometriosis. You go your whole life living in pain everyday and not knowing why.
These are some of the symptoms to look out for but if anything feels wrong or isn't normal for you get help and don't stop until you have an answer - pelvic pain, heavy periods, tiredness, nausea, bloating, leg & back pain, frequent urination and constipation.
It took me far too long and even when I did speak to a doctor and gynaecologists I didn't even explain all of the things that I noticed were different for me, some of them I have only realised now since having the surgery that they were endo related.
There's a tendency as women to ignore our pain and often we've been been conditioned to 'just get on with it, although l've now been diagnosed l've really been living with this for the last 6 years. For so long I suffered in silence not knowing why I was in so much pain everyday.
There have been secondary issues that have come as a result of endo which they discovered in surgery and I'm still currently trying to navigate, but I just want to thank everyone who's helped me get to this point. It's taken a long time to get to where I am right now and been quite a journey but I'm happy to have taken the first steps in getting diagnosed with the condition.

I don’t recall you being asked to be the gatekeeper of this beautiful sport?
Of course there are ways women’s football can improve but that certainly doesn’t involve excluding trans and non-binary folk.
I recently met with the @FA
with colleagues to discuss this.
The physical difference between male & female bodies is the strongest reason to exclude transgender women from women’s football. This is lawful & fair.
The FA is destroying women’s football. 1/2

Met with @bankofengland today to view the first banknotes with HM The King’s portrait. The new notes will be introduced gradually to replace those that are worn.
