Copilot is hallucinating and suggesting autocompletion of a variable using keys from a dictionary of different type from what declared. On a Friday afternoon. This is pure evil. I now understand what's their plan to rule the world. #AI #programming #copilot

The one and only newsletter that I read every single time from top to bottom is about to get better. Congrats team!
We’re excited to announce that we're expanding CTVC into a market intelligence platform for the new climate economy! To get there, we raised $1.75M from leading climate investors including John Doerr, Tom Steyer, Dawn Lippert & AccelR8 πŸ“’πŸŽ‰πŸ’Έ Read more: ctvc.co/ctvc-platform-fundra…

I'd be interested to know what's the split of attention between the 2, I guess the prize goes to GPT because of it's feat of looking sentient. Still in the context of media, which occupies a large part of our lives, Midjourney seems to be a lot more applicable. Check this out

Looking at AI demos out there, feels to me that generative models applied to software development are mostly shifting the Pareto principle from 80/20 to 95/5 with very limited gains in overall time to delivery. Happy to be contradicted and see fast paths to production.

Demystifying AIs and the role of shady influencers, interesting read. Plus, I cannot count how many people can't distinguish search engine functionalities from generative language models. Note to self: forget the hype and try to absorb "cum grano salis" open.substack.com/pub/thealg…

Someone, probably in the last century, said it was best to send marketing emails on Thursday. My inbox gets so clogged that I delete them in bulk and Thursday's emails are probably the only ones that I never read. Anyone else feeling this needs to change?

Whilst heading towards electrification, is there any chance that overall planet health is taken into account when measuring profits? It shouldn't be much harder than linking pollution and resource depletion to corporation taxes. restofworld.org/2022/indones…

Quite ironically, it's CCTV
I couldn’t believe it til I checked but, amidst #ZeroCovid protests here, #China Central Television (CCTV) is editing out close ups of spectators in its coverage of the World Cup so Chinese viewers don’t see thousands of fans without masks in the stands. Only crowd wide shots.
Okay, is he for real? Should he start? @Number10cat please say something wise. Oh the irony of this.
Going forward, accounts engaged in parody must include β€œparody” in their name, not just in bio
Breaking news: if something goes down 10% one day, then up 10% the next day, we're still 1% short from the original value. Okay it's not breaking but repetita juvant.

Addendum worth noting: the same applies if we go up first then down 10%, we're still 1% short.

And guess what happens if we go down 1% ten periods in a row? You'd expect to lose something less than 10% because each decrease is slightly smaller. But no, we're down 10%. That's the beauty of compound interest.
I started reading TASS since the war started as it often exposes machinations of the propaganda if not a specular take on world news. Sometimes it's also a good laugh, I wonder if these guys realise that percentages are capped to 100 by design: tass.com/politics/1509081

Google now strategy on a pixel is to keep showing the same notifications until I tap on them, no matter how many times I dismiss them. Guess the I score in AI isn't that high. #artificialDumbness
Can we please hit pause and seriously think of: 1. Charging infrastructure and energy demands 2. Battery technology and lifecycle sustainability 3. Scalable alternatives to private transport Before rushing into the latest senseless race for growth. Thanks, from planet earth
