TIL if YouTube iOS app has access to your photos, it actively scans them to provide ads. I took a photo of some text with a somewhat obscure company name in it and was promptly served ads for that company. Not even sure how the app had those permissions in the first place.

Apparently people are now using ML systems to generate highly targeted spam and phishing email that look like they’re written by legit people. This is going to get messy. A big change from sending obviously fake messages to trick the most vulnerable victims.

This is what we’ve ended up with.

I didn’t believe this was legit, but yes, it’s actually published.

But so many will just complain that Apple charges more because it’s Apple… of course they understand the Thunderbolt spec too.
