until yesterday, this was the paradigm:
if i want my computer to do a thing
→ i first need to write software
→ so that i can use the software to make my computer do the thing
when you look at it that way, it's obvious that the middle step will just totally disappear.
people won't be writing software or making apps — people will just tell the computer what they want to do.
"vibe coding" isn't the future of software development, it's the future of computer use. dream accordingly.

the best software enables new kinds of global collaboration: wikipedia, youtube, github
it is software that brings people *together* so that they can learn from each other, help each other, build together.
it is software designed *for groups of people* ... who don't know yet each other ... and can create so much once they have a shared platform. software that enables massively global collaboration.
this is the kind of software i want to see a lot more of.
never forget 💔

the loss of flow & focus during vibe coding is very real. and not good. at every turn, i have 20 seconds of wait time that ultimately turn into a distraction or context switch.
i either want to wait 1 second ... or 1 hour. but 20 seconds is productivity death.
The Medium is ...

i don’t want better models. i want better undo.
branching / reviewing / exploring / reverting / adjusting is 90% of my workflow now.

One of the best snippets I read all year. It rings in my head regularly. Define the it-pronoun as needed.
"I find it distracting. It drains me and drudges up worries that I don’t have space for creatively nor a desire to indulge. I don’t find it helpful from a professional perspective either—trying to gain insight from it feels like trying to take a deep breath from inside of a paper bag. I’d much rather go outside." —@halemur

I've been fascinated by how computers see & read our images. This app is a social exploration of that.
