A new release of solid_backup: I added support for backup compression!

I'm going to release a new version of solid_backup soon. I want to merge more PRs against active_record_doctor, too. It's so refreshing to be back to working on open source.
I just published active_record_doctor 2.1.0! 🎉
➡️ New detector for unused tables
➡️ Support for symbols in the in: attribute of presence validators
➡️ Better error messages on length validations of array columns
➡️ Improved documentation for contributors and agents.
Observation: people are more willing to explain their software requirements to an agent than to a human engineer.
I'm slowly carving out time for open source work. I've just merged a PR against active_record_doctor that updates CI. This is a good base for reviewing other outstanding PRs.

I've just published a new gem: solid_backup makes it easy to back up SQLite databases in Rails apps.
It's still early, but all feedback is welcome!

I've just started using pyinfra for configuration management of my OpenBSD and FreeBSD servers and it's GREAT! Would definitely recommend you check it out: pyinfra.com/
I've been exploring provisioning tools today and stumbled upon pyinfra.com/. It looks amazing! Anyone used it in production?

After 12 years of working from home, I rented an office room: 25 square meters, 5 minutes to get there by bike, 2 Gbps fiber for 30 USD / month, and plenty of small businesses around me.
It's an experiment, and I'm going to report back on its results in a few months.
🆕 Rails 8.1 is out today!
It ships with a few improvements that I really like, so I'm excited to update my apps to the latest version.
Let's have a look at each major change briefly 👇
Kamal Improvements. I don't use Kamal, but 8.1 makes it easy to load secrets from encrypted credential files and it supports registry-free deployments.
These were the major changes, but there's much more, so feel free to have a look at the changelog:
