I got the dreaded and inevitable email from Apple today. “Your iCloud storage is full.” It offered to upgrade my family’s storage to 2TB for just $9.99 a month. I turned to my wife and sighed, “Honey, our clutter tax just went up.” 🧵
#cloudstorage
As example, let’s take the “folder,” the foundational concept of storage. A friend and investor @arinewman surmised that the software folder dates back to the 60s with the shift from mainframes to Unix. Whether accurate, matters little. The folder is really old.
So now that you’ve made it this far in the post, I'm curious. If you were to re-invent personal cloud storage, what would it look like? How would it function? Would you still use the folder? How might AI play a role here?
@graceful_io
Set for preview release in Sept, @graceful_io is a new paradigm in personal cloud storage. Not built on the decades old concept of folders but a whole new take. Welcome to cloud storage 2.0
The personal cloud storage market is estimated to grow from $23B today to $139B in 7 years, massive growth fueled by our digital clutter. We created Graceful because we believe there needs to be a new paradigm for personal storage.

This might be the stupidest branding move in the history of business. I give TW three months before they do a just kidding reversal.
Welcome @lynsie to @graceful_io. We couldn’t wish for a more fun, creative, and talented teammate in our mission to build the digital vault for kids.
It’s finally time to share some news with you. Six weeks ago, I joined the founding team at Graceful as Chief Marketing Officer!

Ordered Chinese last night. This was inside my fortune cookie. 1) I didn’t know you could advertise on fortune cookies or that you could then influence the fortune 2) this was a fortune cookie in Montana. Not Miami. Montana 🤦♂️ #cantmakethisshitup
For those who are still wondering, why I live in Montana. I get to do what I love (entrepreneurship) and live in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
A lot of the principles explored in this Sam Harris podcast served as the foundation for @graceful_io enjoy! rss.samharris.org/best-of/b1…
