I know anytime I can hear @eric_brewer speak on anything @googlecloud, I'm going to be there... You should come too, if you're in Playa Vista on May 23rd: rsvp.withgoogle.com/events/p… The event is free but will "sell out" pretty quickly. You should definitely attend.

In this "2023 tech predictions" season we'll see wildly optimistic assessments of how fast everything will change. @DavidLinthicum takes a more measured approach and thinks 2023 will be about real planning and execution on the cloud journey. infoworld.com/article/368055…

Let’s make all this “secure software supply chain” stuff feel a little more real, shall we? How do I ensure that *only* container images built by a particular build engine get deployed to production? We just made this super easy to do. Demo 🧵 time!

All you need is an image and you can deploy to functions, run, GKE, or Compute Engine. GCP truly meets you where you are.
Move workloads ACROSS clouds? Sheesh, how easy is it to move workloads WITHIN a cloud? In most, not very. @googlecloud is different, and better. My app can go from Functions to orchestrator to VMs without changes. Pick now, move later. NBD. That's huge! Let me show you in a 🧵:

Being a Jedi is a lot like being a parent. You get to do a whole bunch of cool stuff but it ends up killing you.

I should answer a few emails before this next meeting OH WAIT WHAT IS THIS THING THAT @pvergadia JUST SHARED? A @googlecloud architecture diagramming tool? And you can pull in a pre-built reference architecture? This, I like. cloud.google.com/blog/topics…

It’s a Richard Seroter 🧵 so you know your gonna learn something new. See how simple GCP has made it to provision and manage Anthos clusters in Azure or AWS!
If you ONLY care about using the simplest Kubernetes in a given cloud, use the native managed option (GKE, EKS, AKS, etc). If you're expanding outward from your anchor cloud, you care about more. We just shipped a new multicloud Anthos. Here's a 🧵 of how it works. Buckle up.

Stop what you're doing and read this piece from @ShopifyEng on the absurd scale of their Black Friday. My favorite nugget: 11 Million QPS and 11 terabytes per second read I/O ... on good ol' MySQL. Who says relational DBs don't scale. cloud.google.com/blog/topics…

I realize that VMs are table-stakes in the cloud, but I'm still delighted by new experiences that make things easier. We just added a @googlecloud Console view that shows you relevant CVEs and installed packages within your VM. Unique in cloud, I think! cloud.google.com/compute/doc…

Our network is just one of the things that make GCP different. Being able to build on top of it is a key advantage for any company.
The @googlecloud network is pretty amazing. Here's a terrific summary by @pvergadia of the network itself and the many services we offer customers ... cloud.google.com/blog/topics…

We see the number of companies running 10+ Kubernetes clusters going up. Way up. How do you apply a set of configurations to a fleet of clusters and avoid drift? We snuck a solution into the @googlecloud GKE Console without much fanfare. Let's fix that. Demo 🧵 time!
