Biar makin tau ttg kelanjutan komitmen Indonesia dlm Paris Agreement dan persiapan dlm #COP23, ada diskusi menarik buat kalian nihhh

Haloo twipsss, semangat pagiii. Masih inget ttg Paris Agreement? Udah tau kan COP23 akan segera dilaksanakan bulan depan?

To sum up: 1. Coastal blue carbon is highly potential for CC mitigation and adaptation

Indonesia does not include mangrove aspect in its NDC Paris Agreement, but 23 countries do

Oil palm expansion is also a new threat of mangrove deforestation

Mangrove deforestation in Indonesia is high, 52.000ha/year (6% forest loss).

The challenge is how we can maintain the muddy soil of mangrove so the carbon will not be released back to the atmosphere.

It can absorb c-atmosphere and store it mostly (80%) at below ground, and the rest is above ground.

Mangrove has the highest carbon storage amongst other types of forest in the world.

Indonesia has abundant blue carbon ecosystem.

Now the session from Dr. Daniel Murdiyarso about opportunities & challenges for climate change mitigation & adaptation

for Indonesia need:science&data, policies&programs, build a domestic market for BC,explore bilateral offset program, leverage voluntary market

Improve ability to incorporate carbon services in programs and services.
