Sunderland fans joining Leeds fans in not knowing the laws. As the stoppage was as a result of 2 teammates colliding neither have to go off despite having treatment and play restarts with a drop ball to the goalkeeper as the goalkeeper had the ball #SUNLEE
The player was down holding his head so Stuart Atwell was 100% correct to stop the play, Leeds United fans showing how little they understand the laws #SUNLEE
No sympathy with a player who takes too long on a throw in and has it overturned, you have a verbal and visual countdown so if you ignore that then it is 100% your fault #SUNLEE
another example of a media channel who can't get the basic laws of the game right. Reckless is a yellow card offence.
This is one of the reasons fans are so uneducated on the laws as they are not educated on them by the media.

How can he complain about that? It is a clear YC. Disgraceful from both sets of players surrounding Kavanagh and more than 1 player putting hands on him. I'd love to see the PL clamp down on that and give refs the confidence to show every player a YC for surrounding them #CHETOT
This looks like great teamwork from the referee and AR. There is a player in the middle that looks to be in an offside position when the cross comes in then clearly challenges the defender for the ball, assuming he is in an offside position it's a great decision
There seems to be a few times this season that play has been stopped due to a flat ball. Another procurement from the Premier League gone wrong #IPSNFO
Whichever way this is given it's going to upset one side or the other but it further proves how the laws are subjective and both sides could be justified in law for this. We also keep hearing people say they want refs to reject the review so lets hope them same people praise this

After VAR review for a possible denial of an obvious goal-scoring opportunity (DOGSO), the referee issued a yellow card to Diop for stopping a promising attack.
REF: “It's a heavy touch, with the defender inside and he knocks the ball away from the goal – I’m going to go direct free-kick and yellow card”.
REF ANNOUNCEMENT: “After review, there is a foul by Ipswich No.6. However, because the player knocks it to the right side of the goal, the final decision is direct free-kick and a yellow card to No.6”.

The VAR got involved for a red.
The referee rejected the red card and decided it was only worthy of a yellow.
Once at the monitor the referee can do whatever he wants.
Replying to @DaleJohnsonBBC
Didn’t think VAR got involved with yellow cards, shouldn’t he have just looked at the screen and if he decided it wasn’t a red then just play on.

I think the referee has made the correct decision to reject the red card and give a yellow.
The speed the ball moves suggests it was a possible scoring chance rather than obvious.
Close call though and more a red than Struijk.

When people want the clear and obvious bar removed for VAR you will have more incidents like that of reviews that are rejected at the monitor and this will show it won't remove controversy #IPSNFO
I agree with the final outcome although it will go down as a mistake for VAR due to it not being a red card #IPSNFO
This isa certain foul but due to the heavy touch I'm not totally convinced it's DOGSO due to the defender next to him and possibly the goalkeeper so this should be a yellow card. #IPSNFO

How can someone say they want a "reasonable debate" then personally insult me and bring me sexuality into it.
It really is sad but it's not surprising as homophobia and abuse is on the rise in football and on social media.

If players didn't spend years cheating & faking injuries this law wouldn't be needed, where was the common sense from players then? This is proof when the referee gets the law right they still get criticised for it. If the referee doesn't follow the law here he gets in trouble

Hi @DaleJohnsonBBC The KMI panel results the panel voted 4:1 onfield and 5:0 VAR for the Gravenberch RC. The comments about the vote are a bit confusing, do they only look at the 2nd YC or do they look at both? If it is both does that mean they voted 4-1 both YC were correct?
