First DAO experience. Well, I believe I should first explain what a DAO is...... A DAO, in simple terms, is basically a community that comes together around a project or idea and uses blockchain-based governance to coordinate, make decisions and contribute. Instead of everything being controlled by one person or a traditional company structure, members can have a say in what happens, usually through governance tokens, proposals and community discussions. Now that I have a better understanding of what a DAO is, let me briefly narrate my experience joining one (my first). The DAO in this context is @grapeprotocol DAO, a Solana-based DAO. I joined through an X post which hinted on alphas being shared during community calls and raffles (keep this in mind, lol) I did the necessary verification, which required holding $GRAPE, the governance token of the DAO. Upon successful verification, I became an official general member. So, I joined what they call a DAO Call, which involves talks about current crypto happenings, alpha, proposals, and I noticed people who joined are given an avenue to talk about their own project or something similar that they want Grape to be involved with. Then it ends with a raffle!!! I'm enchanted to confess that I'm yet to win a single raffle (not very lucky, you see 😂). By the end of the first DC call, I got hold of the DAO's whitepaper, and also got a new role that gave me access to the rest of the server. That's how I became a regular member. Besides the DC calls, everyday discussions ranges from shared information in alpha channels like Solana, Monad, Sui and Crypto in general, and AI which I'm still trying to get catch up with. And that's basically my first DAO experience.
