The Alan Lomax Archive is freely available to everyone. That's 17,400 digital audio files, beginning with Lomax’s first recordings onto (newly invented) tape in 1946 and tracing his career into the 1990s. Incredible!

Today marks 40 years since Icelandic women walked out and refused to work, cook and look after children for a day. It was a moment that changed the way women were seen in the country. Today Iceland ranks first for gender equality globally.

Imagine how much more advanced society would be today if women, who comprise half the world’s brain power, were socially & intellectually enfranchised from the beginning of civilization.
