One thing I still don’t get, being an @Apple user for so long, is their auto-updates feature which never updates.
I used to have the same problem on Android too tbh.
Having to manually update apps all the time, missing out on critical security and feature releases.
My advice to devs is: when watching a tutorial, don’t just blindly follow along copying what they’re typing.
Yes, watch the tutorial, absorb it and learn—then try to implement it yourself and test what you’ve learned -referring back as a reference rather than just regurgitating
After an incredible match by LA Knight and Reigns
This women’s ladder match has been so disappointing! Absolutely terrible.
Botch after botch, extremely sloppy. #mitb

Writing technical Documentation retrospectively can be laborious and often lead to mistakes.
Remember to write your tech docs as you go and revisit them periodically to check their validity.
Autistic individuals often communicate to seek clarity and ensure accuracy, rather than to argue.
What might seem like a debate or argument to neurotypical people is often just a conversation.
Stop being focussed on own needs + interpretations, consider other viewpoints.
Why do beard oil companies use opaque dark bottles?
It looks cool but is so impractical. I never know when I'm about to run out until it's too late! @beard_struggle and many others are culprits of this.
I’ve decided the next time I’m applying for a job my cover letter will simply say
“I deal with the big potato stuff 🥔”
Clean architecture isn't always the answer, devs often slate others for believing that CA is god mode - but CA & CQRS force teams to think about separation of concerns.
Recently saw 2 bundled projects where a CA chat led to a better solution: vertical slicing.
One of the most painful things to do is create an .editorconfig file that will make Stylecop.Analyzer and SonarQube analysis happy. 😆
I’d like to submit a MS Teams update idea.
“Vote to End” - ideas simply vote to end the meeting when you think it’s gone on long enough , not adding any value or just wanting the torment to end.
If 51% of participants vote the teams call immediately ends.
Transferring apps to my new phone, I was shocked by some of the app file sizes.
@tiktok_us TikTok bundled app size: 1.01GB - That’s before documents and data/cache etc. 😮
A raw app size for an app whose content is streamed from servers.
Why such a large bundled app size?!
Using MusicMagpie & Timpsons:
full check + phone verif took 5 mins.
Payment via bank transfer. Easy. Defo recommend.
Tried FB Marketplace: too many scammers/dodgy folk. Vinted no better—slightly less ££ than private sale but hassle-free/easier. Worth it.

DynamoDB queries are shaped by your access patterns, not your schema.
In this in-depth guide, @grantdotdev teaches you how to query data in .NET using partition keys, GSIs, and filter expressions.
You’ll learn about efficient patterns for pagination, querying, and UI-driven data retrieval along the way.

NEW PHONE DAY !! 17 Pro
Some people may have pre-ordered the iPhone 18 Pro - I don’t follow the crowd and just wanted the orange one
Saved £300 👍 upgrading from the 15 Pro Max feels nice to have a 1 hand phone again too
Remember - AI can write code , but being an engineer is knowing when it’s right
I often get asked if I worry about AI taking my job - and the answer is no.
They’ll always need experienced senior and principal engineers.
My biggest concern is companies not taking on juniors
Terminology + context when discussing technical decisions is vital.
Using interchangeable definitions without context = ambiguity.
How do you ensure your teams converse clearly ?
Have to say as a converted iOS and Mac user for several years. After seeing the #google @madebygoogle event. I am considering returning back to Android and Pixel.
The fact they’ve brought back the notification light via “HiLight” that’s a very nice touch.
