In honor of the BYU (Mormons) vs Notre Dame (Catholics) match-up today, let me remind everyone of some important, essential truths: - The Bible is the Word of God, consisting of 66 books, is our only rule for faith and practice, & infallible. - We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ ALONE - The Trinity is essential Christian doctrine. True Christians believe in one God, who is three Persons (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit) - Jesus is our only mediator - Jesus’ sacrifice was perfect & sufficient. No works we do can earn salvation. - Jesus was crucified, died, and rose from the dead three days later, as was prophesied. - God always existed & will always exist - After death, we either go to Heaven or Hell based whether or not we had faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. - No human has, can or will become a god.

Sometimes I feel like an unworthy parent. Like my children are far better than I deserve. That hit yet again last night at Cambria’s volleyball senior night. She is blessed with length, athleticism, and aggressiveness. As a result, she is one of the best athletes for any track or gym she walks in to. While that’s fun, and we are proud of it, that’s not why Jodie and I feel unworthy. Cambria has an exceptional combination of competitive edge and kindness. The Lord has given her the fruits of His Spirit and she loves others well. The hugs, kind words, notes written, and so much more were reigned down on our daughter last night. Not focused on athletic accomplishments, but on how she makes people feel. The impact she has on others. And who she is and the woman she is becoming is so far removed from any parenting Jodie and I have done. Again, she is more than we deserve. A lot of it has been the people that have rallied around her and poured into her. There were countless friends and family there to support her last night. A lot more than I expected. Past team mates and coaches, family members, church leaders, friends from other teams, young children she has poured into, and adults that have known her since she was born. All of them have been used by the Lord to help shape her into who she has become and who she is becoming. What a blessing! We love her dearly. We are thankful for those that have loved her. She is a blessing far beyond words. Thank the Lord for His grace and love!

I’ve discovered an easy way to get engagement on X. Just say something remotely positive about Tesla or Elon Musk. You don’t even have to be positive. Just hint at it, and strangers from around the world can’t help themselves from flooding your comments with negativity. It’s a dopamine hit for them that they can’t resist.

The best part about this is that I’m responding to comments on this post as my cybertruck drives me and my family over 60 miles across town autonomously.
Anyone complaining that the Tesla Roadster doesn’t solve any real-world problems probably hasn’t solved many themselves and doesn’t understand how solving problems on a large scale actually works.

Some people see life as a pie with only so many slices. If someone is innovating in one area, they assume it must come at someone else’s expense. They don’t understand that wealth and innovation can grow the pie.

The same folks complaining about this probably complained about the finances and effort put into self driving cars. Yes Tesla FSD is now statistically safer than human drivers and car accidents have been one of the nation’s leading causes of death.

My stepdad’s sister-in-law is Sine Kerr, who is running alongside Andy Biggs. I made a simple Facebook post saying something like, “It’s not every day you get to vote for a family member. Go Aunt Sine!” That was it. And somehow, strangers in the comments repeatedly called me a pedophile and a Nazi. We are living in a crazy political environment right now.
I’ve run for office many times, but I’ve never witnessed the level of false accusations and threats of violence we’re seeing this election. Every major law enforcement organization has endorsed me because I’ve spent years working to protect children and our state. My wife was born in Mexico. Political violence and threats have no place in our state. There must be accountability.

Lately I have been thinking about friendship tenure. The length of time you have known your friends. I’m not just talking about people you call “friend”. I’m talking about the people you spend the most time with. The people you do life with. As I have been thinking on this I have had a heart of gratitude. Many of my closest friends are people I have known for over 20 years. And for that I am so thankful. They are people that know me well. Really well. And I know them well. People that I have had conflict with. People I have hurt and who have hurt me. People that have been there for me through the highest and lowest parts of life. People that have helped me be a better husband, father, and man of God. It’s awesome! One of the reasons I am thankful is because I know how rare this can be. So many people are lucky to have friends beyond 5 years let alone 20 or 30. Lots of folks for one reason or another bounce around from group to group. A lot of people are constantly in search of the ever illusive “community”. So why am I writing about it? To encourage you. If you are reading this and you have long tenured friends, praise God! And let those friends know how awesome they are. If you are reading this and you don’t have that tenure yet, keep on keepin on. Long tenured meaningful friendships are one of life’s greatest blessings.

Financial advice for single parents that feel like they are behind. It starts with creating margin. Then making the best use of it.

When my children are gifted money I teach them to do these three things: Give, Save, Spend.

It is important to be wise with the amount of money you use for down payment when you purchase a home. You should not completely deplete your reserves. And you should not always put more money down because it does not always mean a better rate/loan.
77
How much should a mortgage payment be? What percentage of your income is best? My answer: Make sure your mortgage payment allows for personal financial MARGIN so that you are able to make regular deposits into savings and investment accounts.

It is perfectly acceptable to save for a child's future without using a tax sheltered account.

I’m an AZ native. I like this list.
I have four passion projects for AZ that would make it a better place: 1) The Salt River should be a functional recreational reservoir in its footprint through the Phoenix Metro area. (This will help to have additional significant water infrastructure and a city length paddle boarding opportunity that people love) 2) Arizona’s sports district should run next to the River and all FOUR teams should have stadium projects ultimately there PLUS a tri-city convention center on the 101/202. 3) Arizona should have at least 6 more nuclear reactors. 4) Frank Lloyd Wright’s Oasis for a state Capitol complex should be built as he envisioned next to the beautiful Papago Buttes. It makes perfect sense for the Capitol complex to be next to ASU and closer to the airport and an iconic mountain in Phoenix.

Professional athletes who actually beat women aren’t treated as bad as @goodgood_golf has been treated over the past few days. Crazy…

WE DID IT! We rode every ride at California Adventure. We had a few rides break down literally as we were next to go, but that did not deter us. We kept an eye out for when they reopened and came back. The last ride was Grizzly River Run, and I stand soaking wet to prove it. Many goals are being met on this year’s daddy-daughter birthday trip. Thankful for this time we have together. This is an annual rhythm I strongly recommend for all Dads. P.S. The only ride that was closed was Silly Symphony Swings.

Republican Sens. Jake Hoffman and Warren Petersen voted against the deal. Their decision proved a blessing in disguise for the more than 100,000 education savings account parents in Arizona. The program remains open and unrestricted. Arizona's Empowerment Scholarship Accounts continue to serve families who want options beyond assigned district schools. Parents use the funds for private tuition, tutoring, therapies, and curricula that fit their children. Enrollment has grown because the program works for those families. ✍️ Corey DeAngelis Article | spectator.com/article/inside…

I agree with this take for the most part. My thought is inflation. I think it could be wise to plan for different inflation than we have seen in the past.
My most contrarian take right now is I’m not worried about a US government debt crisis We have the biggest economy We have the reserve currency We have the most rich ppl There is no substitute for Treasuries We’ll just keep spending and ppl will complain but no crisis will occur Maybe I’ll be wrong but ppl have been predicting this for over a century and they’ve always been wrong
