I have requested my archive.
Many thanks to the few remaining people here, who I have known across almost 15 years.
You have enlightened life.
It has of course, been the best, and then the worst of times.
This, totally. I stopped listening to “news” 8 years ago. It’s the best decision you can possibly make for your mental health. – at Woodstock, England
I hate the way that @BBCRadio3 inflicts the “news” (or rather selected things they think you should believe- in the manner of some Orwellian plan) on me every half hour. I always switch it off. It’s offensive.
And what a fascinating listen it was. Recommended. – at Sale, England
On Private Passions @BBCRadio3 at noon historian Peter Frankopan, author of The Silk Roads: A New History of the World. Music by Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Edward Naylor.
There’s a tiny fragment around 10-11 minutes into the first movement of Walton’s Symphony No. 1, which reminds me of the fading second or so of the BBC’s 1970’s tv news theme.

Cellist Rostropovich, composer Shostakovich, and pianist Richter share a backstage moment. #music #cello #piano #composers
As @FionaMaddocks says in today’s @ObsNewReview - the Rite of Spring performed by @auroraorchestra was truly unforgettable. Encore among the audience and all.
This was, a belter….
Mozart’s Great Mass in C minor is a colossus of the choral repertoire. 🔥
Performed at this year's #BBCProms by @DunedinConsort, led by John Butt. With soloists Lucy Crowe, @NardusWilliams, Jess Dandy, @ben_hulett & Robert Davies.
Watch tonight at 7PM on BBC Four & @BBCiPlayer.
And there’s the magic of it lol. I was back for Amazon Bruch, and then Max Richter which would soothe any troubled mind.
Wonderful stuff. – at Sale, England

What a rich and romantic evening of music from @tonhalle orchestra, violinist Augustin Hadelich and conductor @paavo_jarvi 👏🤩
The orchestra’s encore at the end of the evening was a lively rendition of Hugo Alfven’s Valflickans Dans 🎶
