🌊 Great River Revive today!
10 volunteers (2 new!) removed 10 bags of litter & detritus from Norbury Brook + assorted metal.
More worrying: 4 knives recovered and apparent diesel pollution, now reported to the Environment Agency.
Thanks everyone! 💚

🚨 Croydon says enforcement resources are directed “where they are needed most”.
2025/26:
Bensham Manor: 19,864 fly-tips → 18 environmental FPNs
Norbury & Pollards Hill: 9,617 → 14 FPNs
Fairfield: 2,276 → 51 FPNs
How are enforcement resources targeted?

London Rd, Norbury on Saturday of a busy Bank Holiday weekend.
The nighttime collections have clearly not taken place, most of the bins are overflowing and there's litter all over the streets.
Is this part of the improvements in street cleaning @JasonForCroydon/ @yourcroydon?
Croydon said 321 FPNs were “issued for fly-tipping” in 2025/26.
Its own data has 319 environmental FPNs — just ONE classified as “Illegal depositing waste (Fly-tipping)”.
Others may stem from fly-tip cases, but these are Croydon’s classifications.
I’ve asked why. #DustyBin

🚻 We've launched a petition calling on Croydon Council to reinstate public toilet provision at Thornton Heath Recreation Ground.
If you use and enjoy the park, we'd be grateful if you could spare a minute to sign and share.
Every signature helps.

Nothing has been done - all still there.
This happens far too frequently @JasonForCroydon and it really shouldn’t! Reported again.

Back in @THeathRecCR7 today to tidy up after an “event”. And another 4 bags of litter cleared. @JasonForCroydon @MPSThornton is the PSPO actually active? Seems it’s never used in The Rec..🤨 Why are you waiting?
Solo litter pick today and some magnet fishing brought 4 bags, a discarded ironing board and a wheel clamp retrieved from Norbury Brook..🤗 @KeepBritainTidy #CR7 #whatheatwave

This is one of my more inexplicable 3D resin artworks, Glowing and Fading Away. it’s currently on display with South London Women Artists at East Dulwich Picturehouse and is a sight to behold 😄

Four bags today from the local Jobcentre Garden in #ThorntonHeath #CR7. There is a contract for maintenance so the Facilities Manager has been contacted.🤨

Why is @CleanStreetsApp identifying Fly-tipping as litter @yourcroydon? @VeoliaUK complains about residents using the wrong category but the AI programming is adding to the issue.
This is not a system "enhancement" @JasonForCroydon!

Repeated flytipping outside the Thornton Heath BT/Openreach exchange site.
Reported before. Cleared by me today.
Corporate environmental claims mean little if sites are left like this. @bt_uk
And the corporate runaround as to who is legally responsible is a poor look.

Funny enough, in the same meeting (Oct24) a recommendation was accepted for the contract to be published with a timescale of Apr25!
It seems inconceivable for the Mayor to have not been
aware of its delay, given how contentious it has been and how many times it has been raised.
