Man brauchte für jede Strecke eine eigene Scheibe und wenn man einmal vom richtigen Weg abgewichen war, wurde es schwierig. Nix "Route wird neu berechnet".

As always, we encourage people to interpret our Stringency Index ourworldindata.org/covid-str… as just a summary of the number + intensity of the policies in place (at present, for the unvaxxed). It does not evaluate of effectiveness. Data/methods/sources: bsg.ox.ac.uk/research/resear…

Several people on Twitter have pointed out problems with @BlavatnikSchool 's Stringency Index. Thanks to @joakimbook for this new article aier.org/article/oxfords-str…
Pecularities of the @BlavatnikSchool 's Oxford Stringency Index: Areas with a full total lockdown (China) will get the same rating for C2 (Workspace closing) as Germany, where shopping is normal for anyone vaccinated or recovered.

weighting errors in the Stringency Index. They're pretty bad. I stopped using it completely early on, because of these massive problems, and I stuck directly to country vs country comparisons. I do not know of any good alternative to the Stringency Index, but IMHO it's terrible.
Since the Covid stringency index is popular (especially the charts and map), a few observations on this metric, that maps a complex situation to a single number:
C4 categorizes assembly restrictions in 5 buckets: > 1000, 101-1000, 11-100 und < 10 persons. No reasoning is given
highest level "3- require closing (or work from home) for all-but-essential workplaces " ... which is currently Germany's level, although all vaccinated (>70% popul) are not affected. In in C5 Public transport Germany is thrown in
"2 - require closing (or prohibit most citizens from using it) ", the highest level. Though you can use PT while vaccinated or tested, that is the same level as a country shutting down all PT. All data at github.com/OxCGRT/covid-poli…
Der Covid Stringency Index. Kurzer Thread.
Und in C5 Public transport sind wir mit der gleichen Logik in "2 - require closing (or prohibit most citizens from using it) " eingeordnet. Also gleich gestellt mit Ländern, die den Betrieb einstellen.
