Roadster, but with 4 rear cold gas thrusters and a lightbar. I'm not sure what that huge spoiler (?) under the lightbar in the teaser is though.
This ain’t gonna look anything like what they originally revealed, is it?

I’m hoping some quick wins make it to consumer cars soon: - camera washers - HW4.5 (or whatever Cybercab has) - Starlink
Time for Tesla to take everything they learned from making the Cybercab and launch a new generation of AI-driven vehicles for people to buy. The Cybercab marks a new line in the sand. Everything before the Cybercab was primarily human-driven and designed to be so (ie., performance, handling, acceleration, etc). But Cybercab and post-Cybercab vehicles are designed from ground-up to be driven by AI and for the passenger it's about comfort, calm/peace, entertainment, convenience, etc. Further, the unboxed approach, RIM plastic outer shell, brake-by-wire, next iterations of drive train, thermal management, electronics, etc... all can be leveraged for a cheaper, more efficient and reliable next-gen consumer vehicles. Think Cybercab but a 4-5 passenger model you can buy. And a 6-7 passenger model you can buy. Etc. Would love to see Tesla explore the following: Small sedan Small CUV Mid-size sedan Mid-size SUV Large SUV

RIP your podcast! (and your account seems to still be here hah) Fun match to watch
Seeing a lot of people picking Norway early against Brazil. IF BRAZIL LOSE I WILL DELETE MY ACCOUNT AND MY PODCAST. We won’t be able to put in crosses? No problem. What happens when Vini or Rayan takes their defender on 1v1? I’m putting my entire life that Brazil beats Norway, easier game than Japan.

Yup, park/unpark and pickup/drop offs are a lot less mature (by a few generations). It wasn’t until v13 the car had any real parking capability. On top of that, commercial robotaxi has very different needs (quick stops in dense urban areas) than consumers
the biggest thing holding back FSD 14.3.4 is the start and end of drives fix those, and I honestly think it’d be ready to go unsupervised in many parts of the country

I think they need separate “severity” from “type of intervention”. “Critical” is a severity, not an issue type. Many issues (like harsh braking, speed control, etc) are sometimes minor and sometimes serious.
idea for disengagement reporting instead of prompting the driver while they’re actively driving, show disengagements after the drive ends (after it shifts into Park) you could even allow them to type specific feedback / voice note if they select “Other”

is this your orgin story ("dirty" tesla)?
I found over 30lbs of dirt in the bottom of my first Tesla

What’s wild to me is theres an easy win-win Tesla could have offered: - give HW3 cars a single FSD transfer to a HW4 or newer car to use at any point - don’t include HW4 at all in the current round of transfers Done. Tesla avoids HW3 retrofits. Long term customers happy-ish.
after this, I will shut up. just please: put yourself in the shoes of a customer that: - bought Model S/X in 2022/2023 (~$140k for a Plaid), or even 3/Y at ~$60-75k - paid an additional $15k for FSD (12 ½ years worth of subscription at current pricing) - doesn't have access to latest FSD versions because HW3 (missed cutoff point by a few months) - can't justify upgrading to HW4 because they’re deeply underwater on their current car - see $15k FSD purchase option drop by nearly half, even though Tesla said it was only going to get more expensive - see a great deal on a Cybertruck with "Free FSD Transfer for loyal customers!" advertised right below the Order button. press "Order." - aren’t chronically online, so miss Tesla quietly changing the terms retroactively - show up (or are about to show up) for delivery in June only to be told “sorry, we’re not honoring that” - then went online to figure out what happened… and got hit with “stop wanting things for free!” these customers exist, and will never buy another Tesla again.

I can understand the business strategy to be the lowest cost possible, absolutely no frills airline (especially for short flights). But rejecting that internet on planes is even a useful, desirable feature? Makes no sense.

Waymo 4000 Tesla 500 but growing very fast at end of year. Predicting Austin and 2 other cities for safety monitor less operation
In your opinion, at the end of 2026, how many fully autonomous robotaxis (no human safety monitor) will @Waymo and @Tesla each have operating on public roads? For reference, Waymo currently operates a fleet of about 2,500 vehicles, completing 450k rides per week.

“Almost self driving” 🤣 The viral marketing would be hilarious
Guess they'll change FSD's name? No biggy lol.

Ok but the safety monitor might be in the trunk. Have we looked?? /s
NEWS: A second Tesla Model Y Robotaxi running FSD Unsupervised has just been spotted driving itself on public roads in Austin, Texas, with no one in the front seats. This is a different car from the one spotted earlier. They have different license plates. h/t @Mandablorian

“Ooh look a no turn on red sign! Ugh. Waste of time I hate this things. Let’s just go!” - probably FSD Mad Max mode I think v15 in 10 months will introduce some kind of “traffic reasoning” model that can read and think and offer suggestions to the main driving model
If FSD could read, I think so many issues would be resolved. How long do you think it will take before we get there?
1

The reason model is a slower async side process that doesn’t drive the car directly. Its output of contextual info refreshes every second or so and is consumed by the main driving model.

I found FSD performs particularly badly at "unusual" intersections, especially extra wide intersections or places where the stop sign is excessively far back. Here's a good example (coming from the right): Look how far back that stop sign is, there's room for two cars in front
Replying to @NHTSAgov
@NHTSAgov stops to 0 stink but what's worse is FSD stopping in the incorrect spot, having to double stop for visibility after unnecessary creeps. So, test time for the OGs. 🙂 Scenario 1-6, A B or C. If you all get this right maybe @Tesla_AI will learn. Feel free to look up your state and cheat. @chuckcook @DirtyTesLa @AIDRIVR @DevinOlsenn docs.google.com/spreadsheets…

My preference here would be stop about 3-5 ft from the white lines of the main road to maximize visibility (which means driving completely past the stop sign without stopping)

I'd love to see @Tesla standardize and extend the base warranty. Can we get to 150k miles / 8 years for the battery and motors for all cars? No more mixed mileage.

My guess: Fair weather driving (CA, Texas, FL) is one thing. Unsupervised FSD in the winter in the mountains is entirely different. It's subjectively 10x harder driving to do safely. I don't think they're anywhere near too much compute.
Bad comparison. iPhones are upgraded because they need to support new apps and OS versions that require more memory and processing power. Roads? Driving conditions? They stay the same. Unsupervised FSD will easily be solved with AI4 or AI5. This is what's creating the confusion / questions. If we're talking about flying cars or Optimus humanoid robots? That's where these new platforms will make a LOT of sense. 😉

Exciting! And also it’s very easy to promise eyes off the road driving 3 years from now. See… Elon every year for the past decade haha. The real question is what circumstances can it do this. Traffic jams only on interstates?
NEWS: GM says it plans to launch eyes-off driving, Google AI and other new in-vehicle tech by 2028. GM said the conversational Google Gemini AI will begin launching in its vehicles next year, followed by the new driver-assistance system, which will allow drivers to be hands-free and take their eyes off the road under certain circumstances, in 2028. In 2028, GM will also debut a new centralized computing platform, starting with the Cadillac ESCALADE IQ. "This will be a full reimagining of how vehicles are designed, updated, and improved over time. Built to power both EVs and gas vehicles, the update unites every major system — from propulsion and steering to infotainment and safety — on a single, high-speed computing core. The result: 10 times more over-the-air software update capacity, 1,000 times more bandwidth, and up to 35 times more AI performance for autonomy and advanced features." "GM has mapped 600,000 miles of hands-free roads in North America, and customers have driven 700 million miles with Super Cruise without a reported crash attributed to the system."
