I've heard several people mentioning that they started stockpiling food & water following government advice.
It's put the fear of God in them.
Call me cynical, but the timing seems very convenient considering the Budget is next week.
I have a feeling that we are being softened up because the gov is about to hit us very badly from a financial perspective, and they need a reason to justify it.
Either way, I think I'll go buy some beans.
Am I the only person who is starting to warm to @andyburnham ?
I was skeptical at first, but he seems quite pragmatic.
If his government doesn't shaft businesses, and working people at the next budget, I could see myself quite liking him.

It seems that Freya has now contracted MRSA in the ward. Very poorly. Staff from the ward have not been providing her routine care at @NHSForthValley. Life is completely unbearable. I need my @X community to support Freya to survive this horror. #GetFreyaHomeSafely #Freya #humanrights #PalliativeCare #PatientSafety

I feel very happy tonight as I was able to take my girlfriend on a nice holiday for her 40th but there was a time I wasn't able to do this...
I genuinely struggle to admit this, but one day we got into an argument about what loaf of bread to buy.
The difference was only a few pence, but I grew up poor, so the difference in price felt like a lot.
It caused us to have a massive argument, but thankfully we made up soon after.
Tonight we were able to enjoy a meal in an exclusive restaurant and I didn't have to worry about paying for the extras they offered us.
This isn't because I'm filthy rich, but I'm comfortable now.
I wasn't particularly well educated, school didn't suit me, but the reason I was able to get here is by reading books / listening to audio books.
I know this isn't new advice, as everybody knows books can educate you, but a lot of people don't do it.
I don't expect a lot of people to see this post, but if you're ambitious and have big plans, follow @DanielPriestley and read his books.
If you can't afford his books, buy them second hand and watch his free content.
I've read lots of business books, and followed lots of 'gurus,' but his content is by far the best.
He distills down a lot of the stuff that took me years to figure out, without the BS.
If there's any ambitious people reading this, genuinely follow him and consume his content.
It changed my life for the better.
Also, I have no affiliation with Daniel, I've never met the guy or spoken to him.
However, I genuinely believe he gives the best advice to people who wish to start a business and build a better life for themselves.
A good place to start is by getting a copy of his book called Oversubscribed, especially if you want to start a business.

Please re-post. Freya is now having to live in hospital due to @scotgov lack of funding for care packages for children and young adults living with complex health and disabilities.

Our life the past few days!
If it weren’t for Freya’s Beautiful smile and the Semolina……
Sadly @NHSForthValley continue to understaff Freya’s at home complex care package leaving us with no choice but to have her live in the hospital ward.
Urgent action needed by @JohnSwinney @AConstance23 @andyburnham to appropriately fund NHS complex care packages with skilled staff.

Ask Jeeves was avant-garde.
It was basically ChatGPT’s baby brother.
Somebody should bring it back as an AI assistant. Ask Jeeves AI would absolutely work.
Well done to my mate John. Facing redundancy and then bouncing back is an incredible story... 👏👏👏
Proud of him.

In 2022, Kate Winslet donated £17k to help pay for the extortionate energy bills associated with Freya’s care when the Tories were in power.
Under Keir Starmer, Labour didn’t deliver for Freya. Carolynne is an amazing mum and carer. I hope @andyburnham meets with her and acts.
I spoke earlier on @BBCRadioScot about the imminent rise in #energy costs, the lack of targeted support from @10DowningStreet @andyburnham @Keir_Starmer in implementing a #socialtariff to support the most vulnerable people in the #UK with the #energycrisis #costoflivingcrisis.
Freya and I have been campaigning about this since March 2022, the price cap is unaffordable for households with high levels of medical need.

This guy was two weeks from getting evicted from his apartment in 2013.
Last year he made $65 million.
His name is Dhar Mann.
He makes short morality play videos on youtube.
Started with a few hundred dollars in the bank and one iPhone, filming out of his studio apartment.
By year 3 he'd grown from a team of one to 25 employees.
Now he makes $178,000 a day in revenue posting 300-400 videos a month.
I sat down with him to find out how he does this.

I've upset "militant vegans" and some Daily Mail readers after one of my videos went viral.
I made a comment (as a joke on a FB post) that I thought militant vegans were stealing my milk, but it turned out to be a fox.
They think I was being serious.

Hi @andyburnham, can you set up a government portal to make it easy for these 120 millionaires to voluntarily pay more tax?
Create a public league table too that shows how much tax each person voluntarily paid.
Let's see if they mean what they say, or if they are virtue signalling.
If they actually mean it, you'll raise a ton of tax.
"We want to pay more tax," said the virtue-signalling millionaire.
"Here's a link that lets you actually pay more tax," a random person replies.
The millionaire sits in silence.
You see, they don't actually want to pay more tax.
They're saying it for attention.
If they truly wanted to, they'd simply do it.
