Imagine if in 1943 FDR had decided that the US would stop helping Britain and instead would side with the Third Reich. That's a bit like what President Trump is now doing by cozying up to Russia as it tries to destroy Ukraine. Utterly shameful. A humiliating moment for the US.

We now hear that 🇺🇸 and 🇷🇺 are also discussing joint data centers. Good luck with that. Europe will certainly not join in. Not difficult to know which interests in 🇷🇺 that will be jubilant over this.

Hard-On for Putin, Tough on Ukraine Look at the graphic above and read down each column. On the left is how the Trump administration has treated Vladimir Putin, the man who launched the largest war in Europe since 1945. On the right is how it has treated Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the duly-elected leader of the democratic country Putin invaded. Hold the two side by side and the pattern is obvious. The aggressor gets stroked. The victim gets ultimatums and threats. This week highlights the pattern. Trump strokes villainy and abuses our allies. substack.com/@avindman/note/…

Either this is true, which would be a terrible sign that the President is not in control of his own Pentagon, or it's false, in which case the President is lying about a crucial national security issue for some reason.

What was Zelenskyy's misstep? Criticizing our president who, by turning off Starshield, is actively helping Putin kill Ukrainian civilians as a strategy to pressure Zelenskyy to stop fighting the Russians because, allegedly, that will help lower diesel prices? That's not a misstep; that's leadership. The world is getting tired of our friendly-advice lectures on how to delicately deal with crazy Uncle Trump. And the pattern is clear. Those who push back on Trump's irrational ideas fare better in the long run than those who try to appease him. Xi figured that out. Carney figured that out. Machado tried the opposite, and it didn't work out too well for her.
zelenskyy has exhibited extraordinary restraint in his (public and private) diplomacy w trump ever since the white house blow up in april ‘25. this week was a misstep. understandable given the strain he’s under and trump’s desire to rebuild relations with putin. less consequential given ukraine’s more limited reliance on the americans. but a misstep nonetheless…and one the europeans are now trying hard to remedy.

Sudden restrictions on Starlink use seem designed to create problems for 🇺🇦, and are in all probability linked to present tensions with 🇺🇸. European countries are wise to take note and intensify efforts to avoid undue reliance on 🇺🇸 systems.

It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel. If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.

President Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Russian fuel amidst Putin’s ongoing and brutal attacks on civilian targets in Ukraine makes no sense and is a betrayal of the legacy and leadership of the late Senator Lindsey Graham. While Ukraine fights for its survival, Putin’s war machine continues to prosecute his terrorist war on civilian populations and innocent Ukrainians are dying every day. Now, Instead of implementing the tough sanctions Lindsey Graham fought to his last breath to enact, President Trump has announced the United States is lifting sanctions on Russian energy, fueling the Putin’s war machine. As I saw firsthand in Ukraine last month, Putin is losing this war. Ukraine has fought the Russian military to a standstill and reinvented warfare with drones taking the fight into the heart of Russia. America should not be throwing a lifeline to Putin’s war machine. Now is the time to stand strong against Russian aggression as we did during the first Trump administration. Putin doesn’t want peace. Putin wants Ukraine. I have no doubt that if Putin overruns Ukraine, it will only be a matter of time until Russia’s military crosses a border that our troops will have to deal with him. America is the Leader of the Free World. For our National Security, for the security of our Allies in Europe including Ukraine, President Trump should rescind this deal immediately and return to the strong policies of our four years in the White House; impose harsh sanctions on any nation purchasing Russian energy and work with our allies to ensure Ukraine has the military support it needs to repel and defeat this Russian invasion once and for all. The death penalty is inadmissible because it is an attack on the inviolability and dignity of the person. The common good can be safeguarded and the requirements of justice can be met without recourse to capital punishment: effective systems of detention have been developed that protect citizens while at the same time do not completely deprive those who are guilty of the possibility of redemption. #NoDeathPenalty

This video- like so many- are outrageous. Two settler cars ambush and surround a Palestinian man with his son in the car, who runs for his life. They proceed to beat the Palestinian. This is completely routine in West Bank.
