A depressing night. That so many people voted for repulsive mass deportation, religious imposition, inflationary tariffs, blatant corruption, isolationism, administrative incompetence, repealing the ACA, and more and more politics in your face 24/7.

Promoting conspiracy does nothing to help people find effective solutions. It simply sows more distrust and confusion in what is already a confusing, information saturated environment.

After screaming this for years, I can’t believe it’s taken 12,000 Iranians murdered by the IRGC—to the world’s deafening silence—for people to finally see that the whole human rights movement & its social justice warriors was a gigantic, spectacular farce.
I feel so fucking sick

the evidence is overwhelmingly clear that Trump is the greatest threat to national security. To update my priors would mean to ignore all the evidence staring me in the face. Personally and politically he is a deep well of corruption.

The names of the 100 hostages still being held by Hamas.
Don’t forget about them.
They were both valedictorians. One had a family. The other developed mental illness.
Brian Thompson went from Jewell, Iowa (population 1,200) to leading 140,000 employees and overseeing $280B of revenue at one of the world’s most important companies. His mom worked as a beautician, his dad at a grain elevator—they were probably really proud when he graduated valedictorian of his 50-person high school class. He played basketball and the trombone, got elected homecoming king, and worked in soybean fields and meat processing plants during summers. While studying at the University of Iowa, he met the woman who would become his wife, with whom he would have two kids. By all accounts, he was smart, hard-working, funny, and a thoroughly decent man.
This guy—not the person who murdered him in cold blood—was everything that’s right and good about America, and the American Dream. May his memory be a blessing, and may his example inspire all of us to do better.
In light of #luigimagione thought I'd resurface this from yesterday.

Unfortunately, as has been said repeatedly, @mehdirhasan is not worthy of being called a "journalist." What he's been consuming and promoting as journalism is one-sided and subject to audience capture, such that he doesn't dare to offer differing Palestinian perspectives. He is part of the entrenched “pro-Palestine” narrative that I seek to disrupt; I reached out to him a few months ago asking him to appear on his show in an effort to model engagement, healthy dialogue, and respectful conversation. After all, you would think that a Gazan who carries literal battle scars from Israeli bombardment and has lost dozens of family members to Israel’s current war is worthy of listening to. Instead, we have a British-Pakistani in America trying to out-Palestinian an actual Palestinian, going down the same rabbit hole that conspiracy theorists often do in calling me a fraud, Zionist, sell-out, traitor, etc.
Unfortunately, Mr. Hassan, like numerous non-Palestinians, has emerged to somehow speak on our behalf and tell the Palestinian story while arrogantly and smugly shutting down inconvenient Palestinian voices that challenge his heavily monetized narrative. He just blocked me simply because a comment on a recent post mentioned his name, causing Mr. Hassan to go on a rageful diatribe about how I’m a “fraud” and that he, as the savior of the Palestinian people, is not going to engage with me. Shame on Mehdi Hassan and other fraudulent “journalists” who have taken an oversized role in promoting a warped and distorted “pro-Palestine” narrative. Mr. Hassan could have played an important role in moderating discourse around Israel and Palestine to actually be helpful to the Palestinian cause. I am regularly shut out of “mainstream” media outlets because fraudulent characters like Mehdi are somehow viewed as more “authoritative” to speak about my people than I can. Mehdi Hassan is the embodiment of “No Jews, No News.”
Time to start a new draft of 1984. I'll call it - 2024.
The very first line of that nasty little @amnesty report. Very. First. Line.
