I Got Married With Just ₦45,000 a Month — And God Came Through
In 2023, shortly after graduating from university, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life: to marry my girlfriend, who is now my wife.
At the time, I was earning just ₦45,000 monthly. Almost everyone around me thought I wasn't financially ready for marriage. But I saw something beyond money in the woman I wanted to marry. She had the character, values, vision, and family-oriented mindset I desired. Above all, she was someone I could build a life and do ministry with.
We both had the conviction and faith to take that step, so we refused to let financial limitations and societal pressure decide our future. We planned together, trusted God, and took the step of faith. God came through for us, and we had both our traditional and church weddings.
Today, our lives are better than where we started. We didn't have everything figured out, but we refused to let fear keep us stagnant.
Young man, don't wait until you have everything before making the right decisions. If you've found a woman with the right values, character, vision, and shared purpose, don't let societal pressure or the pursuit of financial perfection keep you from building a future together.
Marriage requires responsibility, planning, and commitment, but you don't have to be wealthy to begin. What matters is that you're ready to take responsibility, work together, and trust God through the journey.
We didn't start with everything, but we started with faith, love, and a shared vision. And God has been faithful!
Blessed
