“trusova receives two or three points in bonuses for her step sequence, while the Japanese skater gets four or five” gee. i wonder why. this must be a conspiracy.
📝| Alena Leonova disagrees with the results of the ISU Grand Prix event in China. According to the former figure skater, Alexandra Trusova deserved to win the competition in Shenzhen.
“I was very surprised that Sasha ended up in second place. That is absolutely not where she belongs. She definitely should have won this competition. If you look at the protocols, everything is quite clearly reflected there. Chiba is a wonderful figure skater who has been competing internationally for a long time. She even finished fourth at the Olympics, just one step away from the podium. But that doesn't change the fact that the protocols show how generously her grades of execution were awarded.
Meanwhile, Sasha doesn't receive the same scores, even though she made no mistakes, had no flaws or poor landings. Chiba, I should point out, had an under-rotation for which she received a negative grade of execution. For example, Trusova receives two or three points in bonuses for her step sequence, while the Japanese skater gets four or five. I think that's exactly where the answer lies as to how the placements were determined. Even the Korean skater, despite performing a triple Axel, doesn't receive bonuses like that. I find it strange and difficult to understand.
Nevertheless, I'm very happy for Sasha. I'm sure she will achieve her goals. Today's performance was simply fantastic.”
