Today, #KwaataSente has been officially launched giving 20 million @Airtel_Ug customers access to convenient mobile loans with just a simple dial of *185*8*5#.
“#KwaataSente comes at a time when Ugandans increasingly value convenience and solutions that make everyday life easier.
The product recognises the financial needs of individuals looking to meet financial obligations on time” - @CentenaryBank MD, Godfrey Byekwaso
At Airtel Money, our ambitions are clear: to make digital financial services work harder for our customers and create opportunities for more Ugandans to participate in the economy. #KwaataSente is a step towards making that a reality - MD, @airtelmoneyug
He further explained that practical financial inclusion is about partnerships, innovation and going beyond conventional approaches. He added that #KwaataSente presents an opportunity to bring digital credit closer to underserved communities across Uganda.
“About 16.5 million Ugandans do not have a bank account”
Our Managing Director, David Opio said this gap inspired the thinking behind #KwaataSente: finding new ways to extend digital credit to Ugandans who may not be reached through conventional banking.
Customers can access loans ranging from UGX 10,000 to UGX 500,000 depending on their approved credit limit with repayment periods of 7, 15, 21 or 30 days.
#KwaataSente also allows partial or full repayment, offering flexibility in managing short-term financial needs.
Today we launched #KwaataSente at Centenary Bank Mapeera House, a brand new digital loan product in partnership with @airtelmoneyug and @CentenaryBank.
The launch marks another step towards making digital credit more accessible and convenient for eligible customers.
