The view of @DrTomSchreiner on 1Pet3:19 in the NAC, that Christ's preaching was post-resurrection / in his exaltation, appeals to me but it's not clear to me in his comments just where this preaching took place / how it was to spirits in prison. Anyone have thoughts?

Where God guides, He provides.
He gives grace in every trial, resources for every mission, escape in every temptation, and His presence through every valley of death.
"my God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19
Jehovah bade His sword awake,
O Christ, it woke ’gainst Thee!
Thy blood the flaming blade must slake;
Thy heart its sheath must be—
All for my sake, my peace to make;
Now sleeps that sword for me.

It is as faith gives thanks in detail that faith is nurtured, encouraged, & takes on fresh heart to expect more mercies. Get rid of some of the tripe in our prayers like ‘and thank you for your many blessings’. Name 1 or 2 of those blessings instead.

Jesus fills Thy wond’ring eyes;
See Him now in glory seated,
Where thy sins no more can rise.

The pilgrim needs a place he can come and be refreshed and cared for. God has designed the local church to meet that need.

🧵Apotemnophilia
In the 90s, Dr. Robert Smith, a surgeon at Falkirk Royal Infirmary, performed leg amputations on two men. Both men were perfectly healthy but suffering from apotemnophilia, a psychiatric condition involving the desire to have healthy limbs amputated./1
