Just me and fellow choristers with an audience member who visited backstage after Friday night's show, her name is Meryl Streep. She was happy, we were happy, it was a pretty great moment!

Judi Dench was on Graham Norton last night to push her new book about her life and work with Shakespeare. After making the point we quote Shakespeare daily without knowing it, this happened:

I’m always curious: when a teacher (particularly a newly qualified one) joins a school, do they get given sample lesson plans etc by the school/department/coworkers? Sort of “this is how we teach X, and we expect you to follow this with your own spin?”

A young White-crowned Sparrow. These birds can run on a treadmill at a pace of 1/3 of a mile per hour without tiring out. This could mean that this is the optimal foraging speed for these birds.

Romance and YA novelists need to write women and young girls with H, I, J, K, L, M cups because they're real and need to be spoken on in positive light.

If more people went to Ontario Place’s West Island and saw what is to be destroyed, this would be a major political issue.

Ontario Place West Island is already a fun place with lots to do for families & individuals year-round. It’s a park. It could use cafes, indoor spaces, and upgrades to existing structures. It’s the wrong place for a huge waterpark. Would cost taxpayers millions. Relocate the spa.

Metrolinx CEO Phil Verster announces he CAN’T announce a new opening date for the Eglinton Crosstown. He says he has a good sense of the schedule, but builder Crosslinx still finding “issues and defects that require additional time” so he’s made choice not to offer a date. Wow.

First you’re too young and inexperienced. Then you’re “difficult to manage.” I wrote about the depressing prevalence of gendered ageism at work for @thisisinsider: businessinsider.com/discrimi…

A new study makes it official: Women are always the wrong age for employers

Researchers found that women faced age discrimination at every age. Too young, having babies, too old — women are never the right age at work.

For true PRESTO accessibility PRESTO cards should be free and available in walking distance (ie. at any convenience store) so that riders on bus lines in Scarborough, North York and Etobicoke don't get shortchanged.
