Damn. That felt awesome. March 2020 my new running shoes tripped me up going down a short but steep hill in our hood. Cut knees and elbows, torn (favorite) running tights and a bruised ego meant no running for a while.

Eventually returned to my forever fave shoes (@adidas Boost) but took it easy on the hills. After winter hibernation, I've selectively run flat streets. Walked hills. Until today. Crushed the down and uphill streets in my hood. 🏃‍♀️ Thought of you @ekkirkland - you'll get there!

Living dangerously over here. Pushing myself to run farther each day and ignoring that silly rule about not increasing mileage by such and such each week. I know better. But, damn, it feels good to run again. And to prioritize self care.

There's a dove protecting her nest in a dead tree on our side yard. It's the most lovely example of what it means to protect what truly matters. All around her we've had yard work done and now the neighbor is replacing his roof. Old roof tiling is littered across the dead tree.

I've never been this happy to see rain in the forecast for June. We need it! But I would like to put in a request for no rain next Sunday when I'm camping with my son. Can someone make that happen?

I answered the phone today. Its was an unknown caller. I never do that. It was delightful. 100% cold call but I threw the guy off script when I told him that I knew about their product and had already referred two consulting clients to them. That wasn't supposed to happen.

We had a delightful chat. Sure enough, one of the two clients I referred last month already signed up. And he got to tell his VP of Marketing to keep sponsoring @MorningBrew - it works!
