I can’t help but notice some Americans are using Tesla demoing a shell concept car hopping for two seconds as some kind of global claim of technical superiority. Well… Thrust-based vertical manoeuvring? Developed in Britain in 1957, culminating in the Harrier Jump Jet, with the P.1127 making its first hover in 1960. And the upside-down car stuff? That’s fan-generated downforce, already demonstrated by British car company McMurtry with its electric Spéirling, which has been destroying track records around the world for the last few years using that exact technology. So let’s not confuse demonstrating an existing engineering principle for the first time in a Tesla prototype to inventing the underlying technology. And the difference is, both the Harrier and McMurtry are real world products, not vastly adapted prototypes designed for a single demonstration. Rule Britannia, spiffing stuff boys and all that. 🇬🇧

When we started responding to Russia’s operation against our data centers, and when our strikes reached Yandex’s data centers, it suddenly became a little easier to breathe on many social media platforms. A lot of people noticed it. There was less hate, less division, and fewer provocations. Because there were fewer bots. And it’s pretty clear where those bots were coming from – if they disappeared when Yandex went offline. This proves, again and again, that Europe is not the source of the problems. Europe is not the one making everything more difficult. Most importantly, we need people in America, every morning, when the day in Europe is already moving toward evening, to really see what is happening. To see the truth. From a speech at the Warsaw Security Forum. (3/3)

France and Ukraine fed Trump false intelligence to test whether he would leak it to Putin—and he did.

Ukrainian officials rejected this claim when it was first made in January, as did the source of the rumour. You know how every few years you’ll see footage that you’ve never seen before on 9/11 and wonder how you’ve never seen it before Well that’s exactly what this is for me Chris York is on a family vacation and most of his footage is on the rooftop of Liberty Court a few blocks away from the World Trade Center In it, you see clear footage of the twin towers about a week before the September 11th attacks. Beautiful day, manhattan looks great. Then there’s a long delay in his camera roll. When it resumes (1 minute mark) the north tower is struck. You can see the earliest first responders at the base of wtc1 - including battalion chief’s Joseph pfiefer While Chris is filming, the South tower is struck, and he recalled later that he could physical feel the blast and the heat of the explosion. In my opinion this is rare footage and perspective 500 feet above the streets and 500 feet below the strikes. Never forget what took place 25 years ago today. Love and respect to those involved, those affected, and our great heroes who saved so many lives. Good bless America and its people

Personally, I think this is nonsense. I will break down what I think is happening in this video. It appears that Jeff Banks is a longtime Reform supporter, so Nigel is granting him two favors. The first is the opportunity to secure a contract to produce Reform's merch. The second is the opportunity to appear in this video, which effectively functions as an advertisement. I think it is a mischaracterization to call Jeff Banks a "designer." A more apt term is "businessman." There's nothing inherently wrong with being a businessman, but if we were to survey everyone in the menswear industry, the greatest concentration of hucksters would be in this category. For decades now, Jeff Banks has been sourcing his production in low-wage countries and then importing those items into Britain, which in turn undercuts British production. For instance, this shirt pictured below, which was made in China. To be clear: there is nothing inherently wrong with Chinese production. Some of it can be quite high-quality. But when someone arrives in the country with only the intention of maximizing profits, quality is not their central concern. If Nigel actually cared about British manufacturing, he could have contacted @paddygrant, who has been a champion in this area for decades. While Jeff Banks was outsourcing his production, Patrick was not only manufacturing in the UK, but also saving British factories. In 2015, he saved the Blackburn factory Cookson & Clegg from closure by purchasing the operation and saving countless jobs. That factory could have easily made Reform's merch. And the money would have gone to someone who has been a genuine champion of UK manufacturing. Jeff Banks claims that it's a "nightmare" to produce neckties in the UK, so he had to go to Como, Italy to get his silk. This is the sort of lie you can expect from a huckster who is principally concerned with profits, not British jobs. I'm sure he knows that Macclesfield has a long tradition of producing British silk. Adamley still produces there, as you can see in the third slide. Some of their designs are inspired by David Evans's archival prints, which would have given Nigel and his team the opportunity to promote a long-forgotten British tradition. (I will save the story for David Evans for another time). These Macclesfield silks could have been given to Drake's, a domestic British neckwear producer. Yes, this would have been expensive for the end consumer. But this is what you would have had to tell Reform supporters: if you want genuine, high-quality British manufacturing, it will cost you. Jeff Banks doesn't take this route with his production because he knows supposed "British patriots" are often cheap bastards, much like their American counterparts. So he cuts corners where he can. By cutting costs in this way, you undercut actual British producers. Consumers see this advertisement, go to Jeff Banks, and see that the goods are cheap. They then wonder why British manufacturers are charging so much more. Unfortunately, this corner of the market is full of hucksters who are not real patriots. Nigel promotes this guy in return for his support, which brings consumers to him, helping line his pockets — much of it cheap imports. If you want real British-made clothing, there is no shortage of options. But you have to be serious about supporting domestic craftspeople and factory workers.
I would like to thank world-renowned designer Jeff Banks for this marvellous British made clothing!

Military time. There is an airport where the military and civilians share a runway called RAF Northolt in west London. A plane was taxiing, and the pilot called the tower to ask for the current time of day. The tower responded with a question: "Are you civilian or military, and if military, what branch?" The pilot asked why they needed that information. The tower responded: “If you are civilian, it's 3 PM. If you are Air Force, it is 1500 hours. If you are Navy, it is 6 bells of the afternoon watch. If you are Army, the little hand is on the 3, and the big hand is on the 12. If you are a Marine, it's Thursday afternoon.” 🤣🤣🤣

The Welsh RU now spends more on its Welsh regions than the Irish RFU does on its provincial team senior squads. Startling new figures have emerged from the IRFU during a government committee meeting that shows the IRFU now spends less on its provincial team squads than the Welsh Rugby Union looking at figures from 2025 Annual Reports. The IRFU stated they spend €41m on the provinces each year covering senior pro teams, academies and domestic pathway funding for the branches. The €41m includes the €9.3m the provinces earn from competition income. Their CFO stated that Leinster get 29% of the total and the lowest team gets 23% - all based on the number of international players they currently have.
