Espresso mainnet can now handle up to 1 million transactions per second. And finality stays under a second, even at that peak load. How we did it, and why it matters ↓

The hardest part of becoming an L2 was the loss of our 5 second finality guarantee. Excited to bring that down to seconds again with @EspressoSys

This is big. CEXs usually wait 12+ minutes for Ethereum finality before crediting deposits because of reorg risk. When @krakenfx begins reading from Espresso for deposits from Espresso-integrated chains, that 12-min wait will drop to seconds. Fast finality in the real world.
📢 @espressoFNDN $ESP is live on Kraken As a fast-follow, customers will soon be able to deposit and withdraw via an Espresso-integrated chain

Synchronous crosschain reads are now live on Celo in a groundbreaking new launch. Really excited to share this, we've been working on it for months (: Try the live demo below!
Excited to unveil the first based appchain on @Celo — powered by @selfxyz’s Proof of Humanity. Built using Pylon, our platform for synchronous composability.

On track to reach subsecond finality in 2026 🎯 We reached 2-second finality on our devnet, which is globally distributed & the same infra powering our Decaf testnet & Espresso mainnet. Credit to our cracked HotShot consensus team pushing the boundaries of what's possible.

TL;DR I'm joining @EspressoSys to continue pushing the boundaries of seamless crosschain interop. DMs are open ☕️ On a more personal level, I'm incredibly excited to share that I'm joining as Director of Partnerships! Working in the intents space for the last several years has been an incredible journey, but lately I've been feeling compelled to dive deeper into the interop tech stack. The work we do in the next 12 months is going to play a HUGE role in setting strong standards for long-term Ethereum scalability. Here's why I'm all-in on Espresso, and why you should be too: 1. Espresso uses HotShot consensus to provide confirmations in seconds, not minutes. That’s the new standard. 2. Every chain that plugs into Espresso inherits the scale, security, and composability of the network. And Espresso's modular design means a rollup can use as much or as little of Espresso's stack as they want. 3. Every app that plugs into Espresso inherits a powerful coordination infrastructure. When you can safely act on other chains’ state in seconds, new UX and liquidity flows open up. And of course, I am pumped to be working alongside @jillgun, @benafisch, @charleslu1, @averiii, and so many others! I can't wait to scale this thing 10x with you all. The future is multi-chain, but it feels like one seamless network. If you’re building the apps, infra, or ecosystems to make that real, let’s talk.

Introducing Pylon, a platform for launching based appchains that synchronously compose with Ethereum L2s. It provides first of its kind cross chain contract calling that feels like deploying your app directly onto a popular Ethereum L2.

Yes yes! Don't bridge coins. Just have secure x-chain message passing. Glad others are waking up to this important realization too! But x-chain messages need to be fast, requiring a universally trusted fast-finality layer for L2s. Andrew's article misses some critical points 🧵

⏳ Final push next week. Our lawyers and experts are working around the clock — we’ve forgotten what normal sleep feels like. Every hour counts, and so do the costs. If you believe in fairness, open-source, and freedom, please help us finish strong. 🙏 👉 freeromanstorm.com

Dear Crypto Community & Privacy Advocates, This is an urgent call: My trial begins July 14, and we’re facing a critical shortfall. I need to raise $500K in the next few days and $1.5M within a couple of weeks to sustain our fight - covering escalating legal fees, expert witnesses, and research as the case extends beyond the initial 2-week projection. My team is working nonstop to defend code as free speech, protect software development , and push back against government overreach that threatens us all. If you can help, please donate now - every contribution counts in this battle for our freedoms: freeromanstorm.com This is urgent 🚨 xitter.cf/rstormsf/status/194381… Thank you. 🙏
Dear Software Community, 🚀🔒 It's Roman Storm here. As my trial begins on July 14, we're facing an unexpected hurdle: ⚠️ What started as a planned 2-week trial is now expected to last 3-4 weeks due to complex legal arguments and unforeseen witnesses and evidence. This means higher expenses for expert testimonies, thorough research, and my committed legal team. ⚖️💻 I'm pushing to raise an additional $1.5M as our updated fundraising target to sustain this fight. ⏰💰 Your support truly matters in safeguarding creativity and privacy from undue interference. 💡❤️ I'm truly grateful for all the support and love I've received during this ordeal. Donate now: freeromanstorm.com Please help me.

Hydrangea is better than @solana’s Alpenglow under some parameterizations. Note that Alpenglow's "20 + 20" tolerance relies on a leader not equivocating (see Assumption 3, and example 44 in the paper: tinyurl.com/y9z7sxvx). This does not hold under standard partial synchrony + Byzantine faults. In contrast, Hydrangea tolerates f Byzantine faults and p crash faults simultaneously under standard partial synchrony.
Presenting Hydrangea, an optimistic two-round partial synchrony protocol. With n = 3f + 3p + 1, under a good network and honest leader, parties commit in (i) two rounds when <= p parties are faulty, (ii) three rounds while tolerating f Byzantine faults and p crash faults. Introducing Explain ETH, a series of interactive essays to show the basics of blockchain Everyone wants mass adoption. Maybe the tech has caught up. But the learning resources definitely haven't. I want to change that.

confirmation layer = order-enforcing DA layer, and is great for onchain CLOBs, which everyone and their friends in the last 48 hours is suddenly bull posting about Espresso is the confirmation layer compatible with Ethereum settlement right now build your CLOB on Espresso 😀
Why build a central-sequencer CLOB and post data to a decentralized order-enforcing DA layer? 1. Lowest execution confirmation latency: a (physically and/or logically) centralized sequencer provides unbeatable latency for executing and confirming incoming transactions. 2. Low execution settlement latency with decentralized security (inheriting from the DA layer): the sequencer is prevented from equivocating from executed state via frequent posting of data to an order-enforcing DA layer (like Celestia). State is final (settlement of executed state) once DA is posted and finalized on the DA layer.

Minting is live! Let's see those Composables! Once again for those in the back - if you’re on an allowlist, it’s very important you mint within the specified window—especially Phase 2 as there are more allowlisted wallets then there are NFTs Here’s the timeline again: Phase 1⃣- Guaranteed mint (happening now) • 9am-12pm EDT (1-4pm UTC) • If you're a Phase 1 allowlister, you're guaranteed to mint a Composable as long as you do it w/in the mint window Phase 2⃣- FCFS mint • 12-2pm EDT (4-6pm UTC) • Phase 2 is first-come, first-served and not everyone is guaranteed a mint! If you're a Phase 2 allowlister, we recommend minting as close to 12pm ET as possible. Phase 3⃣ - Public mint • 2pm EDT (6pm UTC) until sold out • 500 NFTs reserved for public phase - also FCFS, so be quick Good luck! 🫡🤎☕️
