British Hodl just told you the Fabian doctrine. Listen when he speaks. They always tell you who they are
Watch how institutional power is not merely normalized, but openly celebrated in Bitcoin's social layer.
Wealth, status, access, and proximity to power are elevated, while Bitcoin's founding principles, including sovereignty and the separation of money and state, are ridiculed.
The values of the fiat system Bitcoin was created to challenge are being repackaged as Bitcoin's path to success.
On November 5, Mars Spits Bars takes this worldview to BTC Inc's Bitcoin Amsterdam, on a Whale Pass-only panel titled:
“BIG BITCOIN: IN CONTROL?”
The CAPTURE articles documents the institutional relationships and mechanisms of influence.
Bitcoin's social layer is the final line of defense against complete institutional capture.
But if that very social layer is being conditioned to celebrate institutional power, ridicule principled opposition, and attack those exposing its concentration, who exactly is left to resist it?

Africa's Big Five, which one is hardest to spot in Tanzania? Most guides say rhino. Few left, usually far away. What's the hardest animal you've ever tried to see?

Bitcoin was built on “don't trust, verify.”
CAPTURE documents the relationships, incentives, and conflicts surrounding its institutions.
Dan Held, who invested alongside BTC Inc's UTXO Management in Bitlayer, and also backed Liquidium, an Ordinals lending platform backed by UTXO, responds:
“NO ONE CARES.”
Quite the evolution of the ethos.

Talking about "self-custody" on a network with mining as centralized as Bitcoin is as a silly as thinking you have sovereignty over the money in your bank account because you're the only person who knows your login password.

The lows these people will sink to, in covering for Adam and the shitstorm at Blockstream. Pretending there is nothing to see, and now resorting to making up complete lies about Matthew Kratter being behind another independent researcher.
Time will expose all of them.
There have been allegations that NatInfoSec and I are the same person, or that I am the author of some or all of his articles about Blockstream's alleged ponzi scheme. This is a complete and total lie, brought to you by friends of Andy like @JoeNakamoto and @coinjoined.
Two minutes of research will demonstrate that NatInfoSec has a long history as a security researcher, who has done good work like exposing fentanyl traffickers, Russian drone makers, etc. Link is in the reply.
Why are Joe and Chris not interested in getting to the bottom of the Blockstream allegations, instead of attempting to shoot the messenger? Looks like Joe just dropped Blockstream as a sponsor, so I think there's a good chance that he thinks NatInfoSec's allegations are actually correct, and that Joe is trying to distance himself slowly from Andy.
Bitcoiners will remember forever how Joe and Chris behaved this year-- and history will not be kind to their reputations as well

In February, thousands of wildebeest calves are born on the same plains within a few weeks. Most people only hear about the river crossings. Did you know about this one?

ONE. 😌
Take this as your reminder that whatever decision you make about how you custody your bitcoin should answer this question:
“How many independent things must fail before the money is gone?”
We've written an article which breaks down the different custody models to help you understand your options and choose what works best for you.
The link to the article is in the thread.

February is a really interesting time in Tanzania. Around Ndutu and the southern Serengeti, the wildebeest calving season is underway. There can be lots of young animals around. And where there are young animals, predators aren't far away.

One of those safari moments you never forget 😂🐆
We were watching the cheetahs feeding when one of them started coming towards us. I told my guest, “The cheetah is coming.”
She immediately said, “No, no!” 😂😂
Everyone just stayed quiet and watched. We accept ₿

You don't have to commit your entire life to optimism, just try it on for a week. Start thinking "what if it all worked out?" and "what a time to be alive!". Then compare your state of mind to the week before filled with pessimism and doomer nonsense.

Earlier today, ARIN fulfilled our request for an IPv4 /22 via their IPv4 Waiting List. We now own the following IP space:
2602:F4D9::/36
23.149.124.0/24
23.149.125.0/24
206.220.120.0/22
Our initial 2x IPv4 /24 were quickly obtained via NRPM 4.10 for our ns1 and ns2 anycast DNS.

🔥 UPDATE: Adam Back Backs Bitcoin Covenant Opcodes
Blockstream CEO Adam Back supports covenant opcodes, arguing they could reduce the need for future soft forks and improve the security and flexibility of Bitcoin Script.
The debate over Bitcoin’s next major scripting upgrade continues.

When you use banks, you can deposit money but still not access it when you need to, and the bank may earn interest while you wait. With Bitcoin, if you control your Bitcoin, you hold it directly. No intermediary earns from holding it, and access depends on your keys.
