Ok, wow. @getporterdev looks excellent. Going to have to try it out.
To be honest, I loved using Heroku and was using it until I could upskill on devops. But I did ststt using @getporterdev and so far the experience is pretty amazing. Silver lining.

Just played with @getporterdev to spin up a kubernetes cluster in digital ocean and deployed an example @remix_run app in about 10 minutes. Pretty impressed!

k8s sucks, but the dx really depends upon the platform you are using. Like GKE is widely more intuitive than EKS (Kubernetes is second class citizen in in AWS ecosystem).
I think you should checkout @getporterdev, they are making k8s fun again!

Thanks to the entire Zimki team for a product so ahead of its time - our approach with @getporterdev, and broadly much of what's happening in the PaaS market now, is strikingly similar to what Zimki pioneered in 2006.
Someone has been doing a bit of digging .... this was long ago. Still, fond memories of "pre-shaved yaks" but there was an entire team behind Zimki - @jamesaduncan, @tominsam, @clkao, @crucially et al and a plonker who didn't know how to play corporate politics (me) ->
