sad that there’s no engagement, happy that in a shortage it’s my story they want as well so i feel a little better

am I too woke of a fic writer to be a little conflicted about fics being downloaded to personal drives without the author’s knowledge and shared/read without the author gaining any site engagment or is this something I should brush off and get over /gen

🚨‼️ WHILE AO3 is down ‼️🚨 If you read fic from someone’s shared drive, please keep in mind that the authors won’t see any hits/kudos on their work. Once the site is back up, make sure to show those authors some love with kudos/comments. We must feed them if we want to eat

AO3 Status (@AO3_Status) profile pictureAO3 Status@AO3_Status7h
We estimate that service restoration for #AO3 will take around 2 weeks but it could be up to 4 weeks. We are hopeful that we will be able to bring the site back up in a degraded state sooner. Refer to our status page for updates: otwstatus.org/

forever thankful that my positive to hate comment ratio is 300+ to 0. this has made me upload 12 chapters in a single month because someone out there appreciates my work. commenting and leaving kudos is so important because it’s the only currency we have and need. thank you!!ෆ

speaking for myself, i refresh my page daily and read every single kind word more than once. every theory. every “can’t wait for next chapter.” this goes to show that showing up matters and it matters a lot

"literacy crisis" and its about fic writers, who probs don't even speak English, who do this for fun and don't have betas, who choose to try and write (idgaf if it's bad) instead of resorting to using ai for writing, people who actually put in the effort... I'm so tired of y'all

this mass psychosis that fanfic is an uncritiquable art form is a symptom of the literacy crisis don’t ask me how i just feel it

— nanami. business casual. his whites are always crispy white and smelling of fresh linen — ironed and buttoned to the top. his watch timer is the only one he trusts. comfortable pants in the kitchen as he finds them logical and practical.

— yuji. his apron is always dirty, always burned, always gets tangled at the back. gojo warned him not to wear crocks in case of spills but nanami gifted him a jibbitz ones and he refuses to take them off. baggy and oversized, jeans and graphic sweaters. always wired headphones.
