The Agentic IDE that builds itself

for the last ~2 months i’ve been using an orchestrator within @get_bb_app as a single entrypoint to manage my agents with the launch of cursor projects and @nicbstme’s viral post about AI feeds, figured it was time to have opus vibe up a hype video for my workflow at this point there are a lot of ways to have one agent orchestrate a bunch of other agents to do work, but there are a few things an ideal experience needs to solve for: observability: you should easily be able to talk directly to any of the spawned agents; especially for me as an fde there’s still a decent amount of in-the-loop work where going through the manager would be an unnecessary layer of translation attention: there’s only so much i can focus on at once. the split in bb feed makes it easy: agents still working are in a separate section, so the ones that actually need responses are clearly emphasized. if you have too many that need you, you can “pause” some to set them aside (bottom section) for later interaction: support various levels of interaction with the agents - let the manager handle it, talk to the manager directly and have it talk to the agents, reply to the agent directly without leaving the feed (either based on the summary line or expanding the card to see the full most recent message), or fully click into the agent session there might be other things out there that have all three of these but i’m a tinkerer at heart and constantly customizing so bb’s plugin system makes this seamless, shoutout @sawyerhood for building a great product

On today’s episode of @alreadyhereshow I switched things up and sat down IRL with longtime friend @bentossell while he was visiting SF. We talked about how he’s playing with AI these days. Ben is a self proclaimed “non-technical” person intimidated by the terminal but has shipped code to production at @FactoryAI. We get into why he keeps his agent’s context in a folder, why he doesn’t use Claude Code, and why AI makes him want to spend even more time on his computer. shout out to @thsottiaux for the reset because i had astra high fast edit the video. lmk what you think. Other things you will learn in this episode: 02:20 Why building silly things helps you learn how to work with AI 04:23 How Ben built a mascot animator just to make his personal site more fun 06:04 How he built a visual dictionary to understand what coding agents are talking about 08:01 Which tasks he gives Pi, Factory, and Codex—and why he loves @get_bb_app 11:41 Why he agrees with @alexatallah that faster models can feel smarter—and prefers steering agents as they work 15:17 How a shared glossary can help you and your agent stop talking past each other 24:22 Why calling AI adoption a “skill issue” lets the AI labs off the hook 31:13 How Ben keeps his personal context portable across agents and models 31:29 Why he cut back on what his agent remembers about him 42:02 Why you should ask AI questions relentlessly 45:17 Why he wants more time on his computer with his agent

> we have bb at home > the bb we have at home:
You can now mod Claude Code: - Change how it behaves - Customize the UI - Swap in your own features Write one with a few lines of TypeScript, or have Claude build it for you. Mods ship inside plugins, so you install them with /plugin in the CLI or desktop app. A few examples:

what if your agents had slack?
I've been building a bot-teams plugin in @get_bb_app the last few days. Its basically a combination of defining bot profiles + channels where they can collaborate.
