🚀 Kicking off our speaker announcements for Down to Earth, we’re thrilled to welcome Andrew Skinner. He's been at the cutting edge of digital transformation across defence, health, manufacturing & agriculture.
👉 Join us on 18-19 June in Armidale, NSW: getfarmlab.com/downtoearth
🌾 We’ve just wrapped up sampling for one of Australia’s largest insetting projects—stratifying and sampling over 30,000ha of cropping land along the East Coast of Australia. Big work with big impact. More details coming soon.
🌲 Sophie was out braving the brisk New England chill to prep the tree planting site for our Down to Earth conference. If you’re joining us, pack a jumper… and a warm jacket… and maybe a scarf… definitely a beanie.
🧪 Oli dropped into our Adelaide-based lab partner APAL as we wrap up the Kick the $3 Goal(KTG) soil carbon project and prepare samples for the National Soil Archive. Huge thanks to the APAL team, our samplers, and the farmers who made it happen!
🌡️Oli was at the SA Climate Conference this week in Adelaide, chatting with producers and partners about how agriculture can step up to help Australia hit its emissions reduction targets and what FarmLab’s doing to help.
Here's how you can automatically set your own high/medium/low ranges to colour-code your soil test results in FarmLab. 👇🚦✍️
🌏 We’re counting down to our Down to Earth conference in Armidale, 18–19 June. Expect two days of hands-on sessions focused on satellites, trees, and soils. Stay tuned for more information and where to get tickets.
🐄 The ATSE conference kicked off with a visit to the UNE Smart Farms, where researchers are experimenting with pasture species to help reduce livestock emissions. And yes, that is a cow in a box (actually it's technically an emissions chamber).
🎤 We heard from some brilliant agtech at the ATSE conference, with talks on reducing cattle emissions, improving production and genetics. Shoutout to founders like Dani from Zondii, Adam from Aquacultr, Jack from Provenance Propogation, and Bill Mitchell from @optiweigh👏
