Tonight was one of those nights that left us speechless. 💔
There are very few nights on our soup run that truly leave us lost for words, but tonight was one of them.
The sheer number of people, the desperation on their faces, and the overwhelming need for something as basic as a hot meal was heartbreaking to witness.
At one stage, the pressure on our queue became so intense that the rope barrier came down and people surged forward towards the food tables. Our volunteers struggled to regain control, and having to ask people to step back, knowing how desperately they needed food, was absolutely heartbreaking.
We even had to warn that we might have to stop serving if we couldn't restore order. Imagine having to say those words to people who are simply hungry.
Tonight wasn't about people being difficult. It was about desperation. It was about hunger. It was about people struggling to survive.
And that is what has stayed with us tonight.
Despite everything, we made sure that every single person received a hot meal, a bag of food and essential supplies to help them through. Nobody was left without.
Tonight, we had 450 hot meals, along with fresh vegetables, bananas, apples, oranges, yoghurts, fresh bread, brown bread, sandwiches, pastries and plenty of other goodies. Our tea and coffee station was also kept busy throughout the evening.
A very special thank you to the Traveller Women's Sheds, who kindly donated all the beautiful treats from our wonderful coffee morning together earlier today. We brought everything down to our tea and coffee station, and our homeless friends thoroughly enjoyed every last bit. ❤️
But tonight has left us with a very real worry.
How much longer can we continue to meet this growing need? How many more people are going to find themselves depending on soup runs just to eat?
We know we are not alone. Across Dublin, other soup runs and homeless outreach groups are undoubtedly witnessing the same struggles, the same hunger and the same desperation.
We cannot do this without your generosity, your donations and your continued support.
Tonight reminded us, perhaps more than ever, why we do what we do. But it also reminded us just how frightening the level of need has become.
These are human beings. They deserve dignity, compassion and the basic right to food.
We went home tonight knowing everyone had been fed, but with heavy hearts, wondering what tomorrow will bring.
From all of us at Muslim Sisters of Éire, thank you for helping us continue to be there. ❤️

I've been asked about brain damage specifically. The research here is devastating. COVID doesn't just cause "brain fog." It causes measurable, quantifiable drops in intelligence. Here's the data:

😱😱😱 And just like that, it’s completely VANISHED from the media.
A sitting congressman, Ted Lieu, said on the record the Epstein files are being blocked because they show Trump raped and threatened to kill children.
Lets make this viral again 👇

They were more than likely displaced due to hurricane Isaias.

You’d have to be a special kind of stupid to bomb a school full of children in Iran, kidnapped a head of state in Venezuela, assassinated a head of state in Iran, supported a genocide in Gaza and Lebanon, began a genocide in Cuba, and still expect to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

In 2016, I was the Clinton campaign general counsel.
In 2022, Trump sued me and others for RICO. The case was dismissed. Trump and his lawyers were sanctioned.
Now, he has asked SCOTUS to take the case.

Dr. Idris Evans was one of my closest friends from medical school.
It's been troubling to see big accounts on X use this tragedy to cravenly push their various agendas, so I wanted to share a bit about Idris and the GoFundMe for his wife and kids.
Idris was one of the best humans that I had the opportunity to know.
If you were lucky enough to have ever met him, he probably made you laugh. He had one of the quickest and sharpest wits.
When we were in school together, he was like my older brother. We would commute every day from Center City Philadelphia out to East Falls. He introduced me to great music. He taught me about love and relationships. He introduced me to Dogfish Head 90 Minute after our first set of exams in Year 1. I still think about him any time I have one.
Idris was a big prankster. He would come over and rearrange the furniture. Or leave piles of shaving cream in random places that were hard to reach or not discovered until days later. One time, he took my mattress and shoved it into the stairwell. It was lodged in there so well, it was almost impossible to get it out. He was also generous. He'd come over and make amazing dinners. Or just show up to hang.
After school, Idris chose one of the hardest professions in pediatric critical care.
If you can imagine, you see a lot of young children pass away in that kind of job. You suffer that experience to save the ones you can.
Idris was smart and diligent, the kind of person you'd want working in critical care. He also had the heart and mindset to seek out that hardship, to offer himself in service to others, and then to go even further, to lead and teach others in the field as well.
He leaves behind an amazing wife, who has dedicated her life to helping others as well, and two young boys who will have to make sense of life without their father.
X doesn't seem like the right place to share all this, especially given that Idris was no fan of social media. But I've seen so much craven opportunism, the kind of thing that he would have hated even more than social media, that I felt I had to offer something better in his memory.
He spent his life caring for others and their families. Any support you can offer to his family, even just sharing this post to drown out the noise, would be great:

I’m in love with this sentence:
“The degree to which a person can grow is directly proportional to the amount of truth they can accept about themselves without running away.”

The more we look at the efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines, the more clear it becomes that they were safe and effective.

How can they justify leaving right now?
Diesel costs just hit an all-time high. Our nation is at war. The bond market is quivering. The urgency of AI regulation has come to a critical moment.
Congress should be working overtime. Instead Speaker Johnson sent them home. All to dodge one uncomfortable vote - much like his maneuvers last year to hold off the Epstein files.
You don't have to be a Democrat to find that disgraceful.
In less than seven weeks, Americans can change all this. 48 days to go.

This is not quackery.
It's not low quality.
It's not junk science.
It's not debated.
It's detailed, exhaustive, thoroughly researched science:
Covid infections increase your risk of a vast range of health problems.
Vaccinations do not prevent that increase in risk.
Having had Covid before does not prevent that increase in risk.
The only thing that prevents the increase in risk is to *not catch Covid*.
There's a wave now, so mask up.

I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
