Cdn Govt might want to consider comprehensive plans to build a sustainable economy, stop urban sprawl, protect: farmland, natures land & waters habitat, build 100% waste mgmt systems, reduce consumption, modify the financial system to support the move. No real plan, no action

Earth has about 3 trillion trees, down from about 6 trillion before the rise of human civilisation.
Humans cut down ~15 billion every year.
That's roughly 28,000 trees a minute. That is why it's vital we plant them and do all that we can to prevent deforestation. 🌱

5 OF THE LARGEST TEN BANKS IN THE US HAVE NOW ENTERED A BEAR MARKET TERRITORY.
Bank of America: -23.5%
Wells Fargo: -20.1%
Goldman Sachs: -24%
Morgan Stanley: -24%
Capital One: -25%
Along with this, the KBW Nasdaq Bank Index has dropped 15.6% from its peak and has hit a 5-month low.
Historically, bank stocks peak before the recession, and if this decline continues, it'll be a sign that there's a lot of trouble ahead for the US economy.

Every year, millions of hectares of primary rainforest are lost as
Governments around the world are handing bioenergy and the other industries tens of billions of euros in subsidies to destroy these forests.
And they wonder why nature is dying

And so it continues... Our economic debates seem utterly disconnected from the reality.
That reality: This is an economy mostly creating healthcare jobs, and it does so month after month, and everything else is just noise.

ALT Line chart titled "Effectively all of the net job creation has been in healthcare and social assistance, and jobs are shrinking in the rest of the economy" showing change in non-farm payrolls since January 2025 through September 2026. Healthcare and social assistance added 998,000 jobs with consistent growth throughout the period, while the rest of the economy lost 222,000 jobs, meaning all net job creation came from healthcare. The rest of the economy showed particular weakness from May through August 2025 when losses reached 218,000 jobs. This striking divergence reveals an unusual concentration where one sector's growth of roughly 48,000 jobs per month has offset persistent contraction across all other industries combined.

From a political perspective, on going mass immigration can only be explained by the temporary boost it gives to GDP, deepening the inevitable recession,
.. but postponing it onto someone else's watch.
This is political cowardice & ineptitude with nation destroying implications.

At the height of the Great Financial Crisis, policymakers made the decision rather than bring #transparency to all the opaque corners of the financial system and make Wall Street the servant of Main Street, they preferred to increase the opacity in the financial system and the probability of future taxpayer funded bailouts ...
See below for an example of how that decision is playing out ...

Ageing population, skills shortages etc all just a smokescreen.

$6.52 DIESEL SQUEEZES U.S. FISHING FLEETS
U.S. diesel prices have climbed to $6.529 per gallon, marking an 11th consecutive weekly increase and hammering fishing-industry margins.
Fishermen from Cape Cod to Alabama are cutting activity as fuel costs surge, while weak seafood demand limits their ability to recover costs through higher prices.
With distillate inventories historically tight, elevated diesel prices could keep pressure on fishing fleets well into 2027.

"Trading urban green space for concrete is a bad bargain"
As populations grow & land becomes scarcer, mature parks & urban forests are increasingly under pressure from "development".
But their cooling, ecological & public health benefits cannot simply be replaced later.
Yet another good reason to "Say No to a big Australia!"

The Great British Net Zero disaster. This is not climate policy. It is national self-sabotage.
Britain has destroyed its energy security on the altar of net zero. It shut down reliable power generation, priced its own industries out of existence and bound itself to weather, imports and wishful thinking. China reaped the rewards, gift wrapped by the UK government. The British taxpayer was left with the bill - higher costs, weaker industry and a country less able to keep the lights on by its own terms. Shame on successive governments who chose the sermon of net zero over basic energy strategy competence. History will not call it virtue. It will call it a monumental virtue signalling mistake.

With point-access designs, it is actually physically and legally possible to subdivide a large block mass into many independent property parcels, each with its own entrance and address, and with greater potential for house-like, front-to-back units that work for big families and smaller households alike.
Many historical blocks were done this way. Here's one in Copenhagen. You can see the "many properties, one block" structure in the cadastral map.

BREAKING: The Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) fell -403,000 barrels last week, to 285 million barrels, its lowest since November 1982.
This marks the 25th consecutive weekly decline, the longest streak since the 2021-2023 period.
Over this time, US oil inventories in the SPR have dropped -131 million barrels, or -46%.
To put this into perspective, oil reserves in the SPR stood at 650 million barrels in 2020, or +128% above the current levels.
Meanwhile, commercial crude oil stocks excluding the SPR declined -640,000 barrels last week, to 423.4 million barrels, the lowest reading since the end of July.
America's oil reserves are running dangerously low.
