Happy birthday OpenStreetMap!
Happy 20th Birthday OpenStreetMap!
"OpenStreetMap has grown exponentially or quadratically over the last twenty years depending on the metric you’re interested in . . . The story isn’t so much about the data and technology, and it never was. It’s the people. " --@stevec, reflecting on 20 years of OSM

Wonderful to read more about Ola's new mapping infrastructure. Clearly underscores @openstreetmap and open source geospatial software as public infrastructure. Excited for @osm_in to collaborate with others like @MapmyIndia. tech.olakrutrim.com/navigati…
Great to see Ola's @openstreetmap adoption over the years finally in production. Congratulations @osm_in! I hope Ola can acknowledge that they are standing on the shoulders of giants. Looks like the APIs use @OpenMapTiles @pelias_geocoder and @ProjectOSRM, along with @Mapbox!
Brought out the phin filter after a long time. Thank you for the cookies @atulpinheiro!

After Azure exit last month, we’ve now fully exited google maps. We used to spend ₹100 cr a year but we’ve made that 0 this month by moving completely to our in house Ola maps! Check your Ola app and update if needed 😉
Also, Ola maps API available on @Krutrim cloud! Many more features coming soon - street view, NERFs, indoor images, 3D maps, drone maps etc!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This isn't a 100% inhouse solution as stated by the author. They're using MapBox SDK as pointed out by this twitter user.

And when the author says they're spending 0 this month, they're clearly not counting salaries, licenses, and other costs of maintaining this system.
